What is a Dinger...

Going to paraphrase from my Ode to Submariners.

Ode to a Dinger.

Between the innocence of infancy and the reckless of maturity comes the unique specimen of humanity known as a Dinger

Dingers can be found in bars, in arguments, in bed, in debt and intoxicated. We like receiving mail, Gold ammo, nude pin ups, sympathy, complaining and beer.

A Dinger’s Secret ambitions is to change places with the Commander for just one game., to own a brewery and to be loved by everyone in the world

A Dinger is Sir Galahad in a Japanese brothel, a psychoanalyst with Readers Digest on the table, A Don Quixote with a Fort Knox bundle, the saviour of mankind with his back teeth awash,  Valentino with a 30% discount in his pocket and democracy personified in a Red Chinese Prison cell.

A Dinger is a provider in war and a parasite In peace, No one is subjected to abuse, wrongly accused, so often misunderstood by so many as a Dinger. He has patience of job, the honesty of a fool and the heaven sent ability to laugh at himself.

When he finishes a long grind. No one else but a Dinger can create such an atmosphere of suspense and longing as he walks through the door with the magic words on his lips :

“Have you got the beer in yet?”

Dingers are those little balls of fecal matter you find clumped and matted into the hair that grows around some mammals posterior

Good question!

I'll try to elaborate.

Very infrequently, you will see them popping their heads out and getting ram killed by their foes, who knows why?

Exactly 100% of "dingers" belong to a cult called "Aurum potissimum aliud".

Mostly they come out at night, but they are not gremlins and you can feed them after midnight.

Every time you say "dinger" to a mirror 3 times, nothing whatsoever happens.

Forget trying to fathom out what they are, because, to understand them is to become them.

I don't remember the last time I saw one in battle, but they are rumoured to haunt battles around gold mines.

So in conclusion, you won't find them, they will find you.

Hope this helps.
