This is my first forum post because after almost 16,000 games on WoT I received my first ever 24hr account suspension last night. Did I shoot and kill a player on the same team as me deliberately? Yes I did, and so you could say that's my fault and stop reading any further. But there's another player out there who hasn't been punished who had no other intent than to select a random victim and bait them until they retaliated.

Less than ten seconds after the game began I got a message from this other unknown player to 'halt' and then 'follow me' while the player parked his tank right in front of my TD to stop me going forwards. It was so early in the game that I had no idea what he wanted and 'follow me' usually means movement somewhere, but this guy just stopped there while everyone else moved off. Eventually I went around him and towards the action and soon I was in position and ready to shoot - I hadn't realised that this other player had followed me until I felt myself getting pushed out into the line of fire. I instinctively reversed while he kept pushing me for about 30 seconds so I turned away (and got shot twice while turning, not by him) and got back into cover. He then followed me and pushed me backwards this time, for the first thirty seconds I pushed back, but then I just stopped while he pushed me half way across the map (Steppes), hoping he would stop. I pressed help and put out two in-game message asking what the hell he was doing and to stop and got no reply but eventually my patience understandably snapped just before he pushed me back into danger again I shot him.

My account suspension is automatic so I couldn't report him, but I wonder how many others he had done this to. I didn't provoke him in any way and he clearly just wanted to pick on someone and ruin their game, yet I get a suspension and he gets away with it...

As you are clearly entirely innocent and you never shoot allies you should have only got a one hour ban, so something has gone wrong because 24 hour bans are for regular tk'ing *Edited

edit - has it occurred to you he may have had you on his blacklist for some reason?

It never occurred to you that you shooting him was EXACTLY what he wanted? Next time, don't shoot the green tank. He'll ruin one game for you but well now you ruined a full 24 hours worth of games all by yourself.

There is no way you would get a ban for shooting a green just once. Neither would you get a 24 hour ban if you had not previously picked up a 1 hour ban relatively recently.  OP, is there more to this than you are saying?

If they don't turn blue, don't move and wait them out. They will probably get bored. If not fight on as best you can or go AFK.

No, my first and only suspension hurt:

I accidentally slipped off a pile of rubble on Himmelsdorf (the ramp to get out of park in SW corner, tried to stop but couldnt) tracked myself on top of an ally and dealt continuous damage, getting 1hr ban despite almost making it off of him.
(I'd actually received a battle buddy the prior battle, but aparrently being on top of someone is counted as multiple damaging incidents. Go figure.)

The system banned me while still on top of him, so I continued to do damage after I had been kicked (was in platoon so had witness) and the guy died.

You on the other hand shot an ally. And this is not your first offense.
24hrs is 3rd offence iirc

First offence and 24h ban? No way. I occasionally kill *Edited (maybe 1 in 500 battles) who intentionally shoot me but I have never even got 1hr ban for that. *Edited

I don't shoot team mates until they are blue. If they block me or if they push me I drive to another corner and berate them in chat and report them. I care about winning games more than about some imaginary justice.

24 hour ban = second offence. Plus you do not get a ban for a single shot.

No matter how annoying a team mate is, never do team damage as you would only get yourself in trouble and also be just as bad as them, sure its annoying but nothing else you can do about it

You only had to park your tank somewhere safe and play dead.  They stop harassing you soon after and you have all the time to report him.

If you really think this is a fair response from you, perhaps you should think about the team damage you did in the prevous games.  Were they all justified as well?

No offence, but this is BS. You do not get 24h ban for your first insult, also if you would get ban just for one shot, you would have to do team damage/team killing very often.

You can try support (but I do not think they will take care of this before your ban will expire), but I have never ever in my game career of WoT seen a player that got more than hour ban by some unfortunate mistake - all players I know/knew were repeated offenders of rules...

Oh I don't know. Shooting someone once while you just happen to be in the cap circle has its uses.

It's a great stress relief and does wonders for your bloodpressure.

If only I did that. But I continued to read, *Edited

No sympathy, especially since it isn't your first ban.

24 hours? So not your first ban or TK then.

You was pushed by an idiot yes. But pushing and team damage is not based on the same system. One is monitored, and one is based on reports. Both going for repeat offenders, not one hit wonders. And the system that does monitor team damage don't care who started it, just who did it the most. In this case it was you. The other guy might not be banned. But if he does it often enough, the other system will pick up on it, if others report him that is. Sure you did not have the chance to report him. But that's because you got banned before you did.

You could sent it to support and see what they can do with him that way... if anything. I doubt they care unless they have several reports on him already. If not I doubt anything will happen. But it won't reduce the effect of your current offense. As in next time it's more then 24 hours.

Learn to read people. He said FIRST 24 HOUR BAN, not his first ban.  You dont have to pretend you are better than him and constantly point out that it wasn't a first ban. He knows. Uh..

And to the op. You gave him exactly what he wanted. Best insult = ignore
