This has been done before. By myself and others. Time again perhaps...

Amongst the vitriol and the splurge I feel we should take the time to add a little positivity to promote a better ambience.

So if you would please tell me what about the game make you smile, what makes you grin, what is it that keeps you coming back?

For me I simply enjoy triumphing in the face of adversity. a flank that seems lost is re-gained, a 1v1 with a superior tank/player that you win through sheer determination and foxiness.

I have said it before and I say again... for all the games shortcomings and failures its the best tank game in the world in many ways so lets celebrate it a little.. after all you are here reading this ( forum lurkers aside)

and because it sells have some WOT inspired funbags.

Ammoracking full health tanks is always good for a quick laugh, but like you said turning certain defeat into a victory is something special.

I love this game becasue of the pure escapism.  I enjoy trying in my lame way to learn the nuances of the machines and maps.  The constant whining and complaining of the over invested is a bummer.  Shame they cannot simply enjoy the game.

I mostly play for the groupies. Chicks dig men who play WOT.

I like the challenge of fighting skilled player, the satisfaction of defeating an higher tier enemy but, most of all, I like to be the team steel wall. There is nothing that charge me up as the sound of shells bouncing on my tank. Soviet superheavy forged my play style and I'm trying to master them. That is my quest! :izmena:

Seeing that what I did in a battle had a positive influence on the team's outcome.  Winning 1 v 1 in similar tanks is always nice.  Making a risky move that pays off.  Killing all of the enemy arties.  There are loads of things I enjoy about the game, they certainly far outway the negatives.

Lately I've harvested great pleasure from not trying as hard - and discovering what kinds of utterly stupid stuff that turns out to be working extremely well.

Well, it's a fun game regardless. Tanks are kind of cool, after all. Gameplay is varied, there are countless options, it's easy to play a couple of games while taking a break from doing other stuff. No 'immersion requirements' to enjoy the game, which makes it easy to enjoy in small portions as well as large ones.

It's fun to play a game that's not based solely around fast reflexes, but more about pressing the '2'-button positioning and outthinking the enemy.

WoT remains great value for the money, and while there are some dodgy, money-based elements in the game, it's really nothing compared to a certain other tank game.

Let's be honest, the thing that keeps most coming back is the lack of anything better to do. I'm pretty sure that if Sofia Vergara were to land in the average teen's lap, his ruthless pursuit of wn8 would quickly be forgotten.

Same here. There is also something about blowing up tanks. :)

There are those moments where I manage to push someone in the water and keep them there. :D Or if in a heavy tank, when I push someone against a rock or wall and flip them. :D

But ... but ... some of the truly best are those killing shots on drowning arties towards the end. Oooooh, feels so good. :D

I also keep playing this because I play on a MAC and there is a really shitty selection of games that can be played on MACs.

The only thing that makes me smile these days is winning. Doing well and winning is even better.

I am having an awful time. I have brought some new tanks into play this week. Two are fully upgraded and one requires just the top gun to be upgraded.

I have presently won two battles in the T28 Prototype from eleven games. This is the vehicle which requires the top gun. I have won three out of ten games in the AMX 50 100 which is fully upgraded and has a decent crew. Yesterday morning was abysmal over all, with something like seven wins from twenty battles (T28 Prot and AMX included), losing continually in a number of tanks. I only pulled the WR back a bit later, playing some of my favourite Elite keepers.

A truly good game at any tier is becoming so rare- but hardly ever at tier VIII where I am mostly grinding now. Eleven battles this morning in tier VI to VIII. I have not been top tier once. Several massacres, a number of meh! battles and only ONE decent battle where I won, survived and did OK.

The only time I have a good time any longer is when I ditch those grinders and get out my favourite tanks. Even that is still a lottery on some days.

Sorry, Connor.

One of the very first crew I got in this game went with me along the German TD line and ended up in the Rhm and was later shared with the E25, Dicker Max and Skorpion just finished its sixth skill and is now working on its 7th skill. And they are not a special zero skill crew so all the hard work they did themself.

Made me pretty happy .... until i saw the 13 million xp they need to complete the 7th skill ;)

Also: When a plan comes together. When you assess the situation perfectly and go for the game changing play and it works.

I don't do butt stuff when I play, how do you do that situation, exactly?

I love how different most of the tanks play and feel. Each has it's strenghts and weaknesses, altough lately certain few tanks have only strenghts, which ruins the feel.

Campaign missions for unique tanks that you have to earn, these bullrush grinds to T10 to get a unique tank, tank marathons, random teamwork etc.

When it comes to smiles and fun it's my clan and social interaction with my friends.

Things I enjoy:

- Abusing bad players, outplaying good ones.

- Dynamic gameplay. Every battle is different.

- My personal influence on victories.

- Tactical aspect. Even if I'm in a team full of tomatoes I'm going to offer a strategy. I'll keep telling that special Tiger 2 to fall back. Some of my platoon buddies have so much synergy with me, also a very enjoyable experience.

- Mind games. Having a feeling when someone is afraid or overly aggressive. Creating situations where your enemies makes mistakes, etc.
