To be fair there's a few posters over at the Announcements forums saying similar things. They may be something in this.

No mods = no problems.

The only mod I ever used was battle assistant, about 2 months before it got added to the game, and only after confirming with the support it was legal.

I really can't pity anyone getting caught, knowingly or not.

Dear Community,

I'd like to ask a couple of questions. Recently I got a week long suspension for breaking the fair play policy.

Now Ive had my fair share of team killing when people were trolling me, and if i got a suspension I'd know I had myself to blaim for loosing my cool. No real harm done here.

But now wargaming has hit me with a 1 week suspension with the notice that I am not complying with the fair play policy (usage of illegal mods). And now it gets real strange: Ive only use quickybabys mod. I checked and checked, but I cant find an element that could be interpreted as illegal.

So this leaves me sitting here with a suspension without me having any clue why. I already submitted a ticket for the reason, but I believe they said the don't always reply to suspension tickets. Does anyone else have some experience with this? Has anyone ever been suspended with no clue whatsoever. The

The real thing I'm worried about is after the 1 week suspension, there is only the permanent ban option. And that scares me. Because how do you avoid repeating the "mistake" if you dont know what it is...

Sincerely,

V.

Blame QB, and then delete all mods. He should take heat for the mods that HE  approved... Learn to play without mods...

Any system especially an automatic one must  act cautiously and there should be an appeals process.

Sure there are cheats but this isn't as clear cut as say If you drive the panther you will get banned.

This is if we find a mod you are using is breaking our guidelines then you get a 7 day ban.

OK so someone gets a mod or a modpack and assume they think they are doing nothing wrong.

They get a ban.

Can they ask what the ban was for which mod or part of modpack was the problem.

If not then all they can do is never ever use any kind of mod again because one more mistake and they are gone.

I have Solos modpack installed and have some of the mods in that active, so far as I know nothing illegal or even borderline running.

Read the guidelines and think I'm ok, Its possible I am not.

Sure I can run without mods I just happen to Like Jimb0s gunsight and I like a different sixth sense icon most of all the mod I really depend on is the one that gives me a default X2 zoom every time I enter sniper mode.

The in game one remembers your previous zoom level which is a complete pain.

Take out the last tank in a battle zoomed in to X16

game ends

Start a new game even with a different tank hit the sniper mode key and yep it remembered im at X16 .

If it proves to be illegal I will have to revert from using a sniper mode key to only using the mouse wheel but after 4 years changing isnt easy.

I Guess nobody would assume they are cheating. But let's assume the OP is indeed Innocent, afaik the ONLY thing you get from support is a copy-paste message that u got caught cheating and that they cannot divulge how they do it, because that will result in countermeasures from the mod creators to avoid detection.

tl:dr you are screwed

I wish I had your confidence.

I remember Punkbuster calling people cheats for having standard dialup settings on RtCW for instance.

Yes just blame someabody else and claim because you blindly followed their lead you are innocent. I imagine a lot of murderers have got their convictions thrown out because somebody told them to do it. The point about mods is that people who use them are knowingly modifying the game, so it's up to the individual to pick through them to see if any contravene the game rules.

WG aren't the sharpest tools in the box so you should not be surprised by the depths of ineptitude they can plumb.

I've just received the same ban but can hazard a guess why. I knew my standard vanilla XVM (yeah whatever) was about to expire and went to the site this evening to prolong whilst the game was loading. Prolonged and went back to the loading screen to see the ban message; the accompanying email is timed at 15:56 but that's probably because it's generated in the "Far East" and not in the UK (where it was 19.56 or thereabouts).

In any event, I've never downloaded or used an "illegal" mod or any other than vanilla XVM. I probably could have been banned for raging many times but not for cheating. Only played two or three battles last night and none the previous evening so what the hell they are basing their judgement on I have no idea and nor do they in all probability.

Just another WG Chrysler K, E25, World of Warplanes (insert favourite WG balls up here) moment as far as I'm concerned.

Strangely, life goes on!

I got an answer from support

The answer was to cut it short:

1 Sorry to hear you got suspended,

2 You got suspended by an automatic system (not by a other user or some sort or send in replay)

3 Suggest you delete all mods

The one thing I hate about this is that when this automatic system [edited]up again (from my point of view), do I directly get a permanent ban. Because the system thinks Im a second time offender?

And yes yes, people are nagging play without mods blabla. I get that. But what the most important thing is for me, to have a normal garage. No cheeky gold hustling from WG when you change guns. Bino switching etc....Besides, I dont trust all mod builders. Quickybaby has a reputation to uphold (making money of Youtube). So I trust his mod more than some random dude. And lets say that the most important thing I want is the garagemods and xvm. Thats the most important thing. When people say mods give you all kinds of advantages, yeah, a bit. But why shouldnt I when my enemy has this advantage?

They will have logged players for banning since the last ban wave (3 months?).  You can delete a cheat in that time & still get banned.

Did you run the Integrity Check to get an accurate list of mods in use?

I dont see the point. Only a month ago I had to reinstall WOT. Clean install. Even before that I only used quickybabys mod. So there is not a possibility of there being other mods somewhere still active etc.

huehuehuehue. Sounds like a solid plan. Might I be allowed to remind you not to forget to buy a couple of Fort Knox before you attempt this?

It will significantly improve your odds.

If it was Qb's modpack, I'd be banned too but I did not have such thing happening to my account.
