Could someone explain me why t8 heavy kv4 costs 53 xp and t8 heavy Cearnavon 110k? And why cost the Qonqueror (t9 follower of Cearnavon) also 110k xp?!

The XP costs are evend out throughout the lines to be about the same when grinding to tier 10. When a tank is cheaper to unlock, that is usually because the modules of the previous tank were rather expensive. The less stuff you need to unlock on a tank, the more XP will be needed to unlock the next tank in line.

Caern is hardmode. At least until next patch.

KV-4 has a unique gun, so even if there was any difference it would be reasonable. Caern shares many modules with the medium line. Not that it makes it better, but still.

You go to wotdb.info and check the actual cost of the line. In the end, if you elite every tank, exp cost gets roughly the same over the nations.

 No, this is BS.

Brit heavy line costs 735,900 xp to get the FV215b, Brit medium line costs 752,540 xp for the Centurion AX and they don't even share a lot of modules, only guns for t5-7 and a few high tier engines.

Meanwhile IS-4 line only costs 552,975 xp, IS-7 line costs 592,080, plus the two lines share almost all the same guns (only KV-1S, T-150, KV-4 and IS-7 have unique top guns), a lot of engines are shared with TD lines and just to add insult to injury the entire IS-7 line and half the IS-4 line can be fully upgraded without needing to research tracks which can only be done with one brit tank in heavy or medium lines (Black Prince).

Exactly. iirc, tanks.gg uses the least amount of XP to get to tier X, not to elite every tank on the way. As the point was that it's next tank unlock cost is less, if you have more modules to unlock to gain elite status. Then the price on the end tank is reduced, vs if you only had one module to unlock. Thus the reason why the old tier 9 French TD did almost cost 300K to elite, as all he needed was tracks. Not 2 guns like the T95. Thus the tier X there cost 100K less.

But on the RU line you can get from the KV-3, to the KV-4 by unlocking 1 gun, the 107. And skip all the engines, tracks, turrets and bigger guns. That is if you skip the 107m and turret unlock on the T-150 to. As that makes the tier 7 grind 64K alone, vs 139 000 at the min on the Black Price grind that forces you to take the gun unlocks. But if you elite both of them, the XP price is almost the same. As you need the elite status to turn on accelerated crew xp etc.

Going from the MS-1 to the IS-4, getting elite status on every tank on the way costs 941 000 XP. But on the UK HT line from the tier 1 and up costs about 959 000 XP. So yeah... it's about the same. It's about 600K on RU if stick to the stock guns, and stock turret and no engine and track upgrade on just about every tank on the way up. And just go straight for the next tank all the time. It's why so many uses the IS-7 or 4 line for their T95E2 accounts.

People mentioned it already, modules.

If you pick the direct path from KV-3 to KV-4, yes you save alot on XP. But please inform me how grinding will go on the KV-4 with the 107mm stock gun. Pretty sure you want to stab yourself after only a few games in it.

Even with the 122mm topgun from KV-3, it's still a harrowing grind with today's MM in KV-4, but at least you got a workable gun with a punch, if it pens (use that prem ammo yo!).

Don't let the 53K exp to KV-4 fool you. Elite that KV-3. You don't want to grind all those guns in a KV-4, really you don't want that.

That said, Caern to Conqueror is indeed less then KV-4 to ST-I, because so many modules from Caernavon carry over, unlike KV-4 to ST-I, where hardly anything carries over, so it makes sense to grind it all on Caernavon before moving on to Conqueror.

Pretty sure older lines just cost less XP, with newer lines they just power creep the XP needed.
