For anyone finding that their World of Tanks experience is not enjoyable, I offer 4 steps to improve your in-game happiness:

1.  Don't install XVM

The winrate calculator has to be one of the worst ideas ever.  A classic example of a self fulfilling prophecy: my winrate chance is low => why bother trying => lose => wow, XVM was right

Seeing the wall of red on your team has the same effect.  Don't use it - ignorance is bliss!

Exception:  Arty players should use it all the time.  It will make you happy to destroy that Purple/Blue/Green player.  Don't worry that you are making their life miserable - you are only responsible for your own self-gratification, not other peoples feelings.

2.  Turn off team chat

The average person who feels the need to post something on the internet will generally not be adding any value to your life.  They are just attention seeking and/or expressing their negative emotions. Team chat is a classic example of this.  So is this forum.  Occasionally someone will actually try to give meaningful advice but this is so rare that it's not worth the downsides.  Just turn it off so you never need to see the words 'noob', 'camper', 'cancer' or 'uninstall game' again.

3.  Don't play Tier 8

Being bottom tier every single game gets old fast.  Possible exception:  You have one of the recent OP premiums that are basically Tier 9 anyway

4.  Play Arty

You never need to care about the things that generally make people unhappy.  Gold ammo?  Seriously, who would fire that at arties?.  One shotted by Arty?  Karma.  Can't damage OP tanks in corridor maps?  Yes you can.

Plus you can do other productive activities in real life between reloads

You're welcome.

1. Uninstall

2. Play something else.

3. Happiness.

I´m skipping step 1 though. But I can usually only manage 5-6 games before I get pissed off by the shitty MM, stupid RNG or most commonly the stupidity of the vast majority of the WoT players.

1. Uninstall
2. Happiness

took me 30k battles to realize that, thankful for the last patches which destroyed the MM and getting constantly 30% winrate sessions.

His point still stands if instead of the now removed winrate indicator you just read team stats.

Also, completely agree with the OP with the exception of point 4. Not because I hate arty, but rather that I find it incredibly dull to play.

But isnt that individual for every player ? I never go drown myself, suicide rush or cry in chat if the enemy team is a bit better. It's just how you cope with the info you get.

I agree to #1 and #2 atleast, but not #3 and 50/50 for #4 (I play every class)

XVM calculator is like scouter on DBZ series, it show some stats based calculations, but not how players really do. One player can alone wipe whole enemy team (15 kills pro), XVM doesn't know that (I was pretty good with old 112 tank, I haven't tried with buffed armor version yet)

Disabled chat is bonus for everything, less spam and hate.

How you react to it definitely is, but you can't disregard the negative precedent a poor team can set. I much prefer the neutrality of not running xvm and starting every game as a 50/50.

I have found one solid advice that worked for me:

Play only max 2-3 days each week, with 10 games max on each session.

Hi!

My 2 cents, err... 4 points :) :

1. Don't care for stats.

2. Try to do your best.

3. Have fun. When not,

4. stop playing for the day.

Can confirm #1, used to run a bunch of mods but got tired having to update them every patch, and some getting broken with every other micropatch, the most important stuff are in the game now anyways. Now that I don’t have xvm and some other sh** I feel free!

The only mods I truly miss are the in-game/garage clock, but I’ll manage without them.
