Every hit into the LFP, where literally everybody shoots it, damages it's ammorack, it's ridiculous though.

I've just had a game, where i've gotten ammoracked 4 times in a row... they don't even have to aim for the tracks, just hit the ammorack and spam away!

And yes, I've got wet stowage. Doesn't help one bit.

The only way to play this tank it seems, is to not get hit. You can hide your lfp in certain places on every map, but this is very restricting...

If you want to play a high tier (8+) British turreted tank, you need to learn to play hull down, preferably using your gun depression.

Its the same with Conq repair it as fast as possible if you don't want to blow up. I think only the russian Meds blew up more often than the Conq during my grind. Well craparmor and big frontal ammorack is a great combination.

Same with the Centurions. You NEED to be hull down. If you can't go hull down, you can sidescrape in the heavies. If people have shots at the front of your hull, you're doing it wrong.

You can probably sidescrape vs a pea shooter but anything with a  girthy weapon will just munch through.

This is correct, it has a horrible side armor.

I'll probably need to google some hull-down spots, but the lfp is annoying as hell. Who in their right mind would put ammo in the front of the tank?

A lot of the higher tier Brit heavies have thicc racks. Either a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you ask.

My point is ... you don't see a Maus, or an E-75 or an M103 getting ammoracked every second shot in the lower plate... if this is a balancing "feature" it's a pretty shitty one.

I'm pretty sure it's basically WG sticking to historical accuracy hilariously enough but it's of course annoying. AFAIK tanks like the Centurion and Conqueror stored rounds next to the driver as they had no need for a secondary driver so filled the space with spare rounds.

Tthat's not strange, since the ammoracks are on the side in German heavies. Instead they get shot in the engine tons of times because it's behind the lfp.

I feel your pain. It has its uses but I disliked it because of the ammo rack and extremely weak hull that tier 5 lights can pen. By no means I wanted to play a brainless heavy tank and I wanted to get to FV215b in time, so I had to grind the whole "Cancerarvon" as I called it. Not because it's a bad tank, but because it lacks all elements that make a tank "heavy".

Free XPed everything up to the gun on Conqueror to make it playable. Brace yourself because Conqueror is a tier XVII turret made from schwarzensteel on a tier VI hull made from premium cardboard and ammunition. Conqueror is much more fun for me though.

Best advice I've been given recently: Study the Armor Scheme and Module Map in your vehicle and learn how to hide weak spots and significant modules. Such as ammo racks, loaders, cupolas and the like. Cheers!

Planning on freexping it too, grinding the conqueror with the old turret would be a bit of a pain in the a. I also play without the engines, so... yeah. It's bad.

Dear Lord... I had what I can from the medium tree which I have Centurion AX unlocked. A lot of engines and radios were already available for me and still weren't quite mobile, just enough to not ragequit xD
However playing good with the Conqueror is rewarding. You can actually feel the difference between properly playing vs non-braining as if you played a Jap heavy.
