Been playing these a lot - and clearly the wrong way.

I have been playing them kind of like pimped out light tanks with extra flavor of using turret armor to assualt when/where needed and possible.

So I:

-spot / not early spots - unless maps with 100% safe spots

-flank

-support/lead medium rush

-support/lead heavies on heavy corner

-find openings to charge in and wreck stuff

-look for our faltering flanks to try and hold ground

-generally just look at the map to find best place to secure wins

-make all effort to just dealing maximum damage / kills

-conserve hitpoints till endgame

In addition what I have tried till now: on matches with not all TX I have more and more tried to engage the tier 10's to stop them from wrecking our lower tiers.

Any feedback?

I suck terribly in these tanks and whenever a thread pops up mentioning "OP Russian meds" I think, "Man, I wish I could be OP in Russian meds!".  I am awful in the T62a and Obj 140.  I think I over extend and die too often.  Maybe some purple can look at my stats and see if that sounds about right on the face of it...

First step: Drop the T62A as its now inferior.

Second step: No advice on the forums can even get close to helping you in that matter. Watch streams, play yourself. Thats about the only way to improve. Some theoretical analysis wont help at all.

If someone can add the batchat too. It is my first t10 tank and I suck balls in it. While at t9 I can play around the 50% win rate with the batchat I am at catastrophically 33%.

Yeah, i am afraid wunderwurst is right, we cant give you advice that wil help you. You need to watch and learn the game yourself and learn of every situation you encounter.

Ok.

On a more practical note: would you be willing to help and advice a strategy/tactic on dueling E50M or M48 Patton - using T62A/Obj? ie. If I must kill either as a toptier counterpart - how should I approach it?

There isnt a single approach, dont focus on 1 tank, just be where your team needs you and where your tank is strong, then if these show up, shoot them ;)

Post some replays. 140/62A are mostly about using your DPM properly.

I can offer you some general tips:

- The T62A / Object 140 are fast shooting monsters so best way to take advantage of that is by tracking enemy tanks and keeping them perma-tracked. You can easily farm damage and assisted damage that way.

- You have an awesome gun which shoots VERY accurate on the move so don't be afraid to pop a shell whilst being on the move. You're going to be surprised how many times you'll hit the target.

- Bully lower Tiers and be cautious of same Tiers. I urge you to quickly dispose of Tier 8-9s, especially medium tanks. You should straight up drive into their face and hug them, meanwhile DPM them down to nothing and let them cry in agony!

- Approach super heavies with care and caution, you're easily penned unless you're hulldown.

- ALWAYS exploit the terrain to your advantage, that's why it's there. Stay hulldown, sidescrape and leap out of cover when a fat, slow heavy approaches near you.

- APRC is love, APCR is life.

- 10-15 HEAT is more than enough, especially in this new MM.

- Be aggresive in spotting over ridges, you have a nice bouncy turret.

- Object 140 >>> T62A

- What Wunde said about playing. Play and play a lot :)

^ this x10, after simply the basics noone can help you.

start analyzing your games

why did you win?/ why did you lose?

what did you do and had good results in that game?

can you re-enact that situation  and how?

etc

after a few games it will shine upon you how that tank fits in your playstyle and it should be played

Practice your on the move targeting. The t-62a especially has god tier gun handling to the point where it's quite easy to track people on the move.

Also, like the other said, critically watch streamers and your own replays. Figure out WHY you got to do massive damage that one game and why you didn't on that other one. This game can be quite dynamic, but the basic principles to doing damage are always the same. Which is why reading some text won't help you either at the same time, because you probably already know to an extent how to do damage. Chances are that you're just not very efficient at it yet.

I mean, you have over 2.7k DPG on both of those tanks, so you're having an impact on the game. Your winrate however shows that somehow that impact isn't carried all the way. That can be anything from passivity to poor flank choices or even just slow reactions.

I´m going to steal all advice given here. Failing about twice as bad as you do in both of them...

I agree with this guy. no amount of advice can really help you  but your own understanding of the game/tank. i can say obj 140 is harder to play due to its weakspots , but it also has a little better gun depression. for me, T-62-A feels slightly better as i am constantly searching for ridges where i can dominate, but that also depends on the map.. Obj will make you more careful and also bit more active since overexposing can hurt. I also had a situation yesterday in a ranked game while playing T-62-A  where a fu ckin g Type 5 Heavy HE'ed me for 571 dmg, while i was hulldown, direct shot in my OP turret. if i would have been in the obj i would have never played on that flank on Fjords ,we won but still...if a high caliber gun decides to load HE like E-100 E4 , specially Type IX and X ur kinda frakked even with the OP turret...so my only adivice is play which one of them for a couple of hundreds of battles and you will see if it fits you or not.

I feel pretty disgusting when shooting on the move with the 140.

You have to play it like a jerk

Camp, barely show yourself from time to time but only expose turret. Always hunt down those trying to make a difference, facehug those who can't pen you and circle those with slow traverse. Be a frustrating annoying soviet medium that's just there to finish them off. And always be accompanied by an autoloader or a TD.

Russian tanks with the best turrets and low profiles and you tell him to camp?

Perhaps we have disagreements on the definition of camping.

My version = staying in a superior position (as behind rubble heaps in stalincrap) and bait people over where they'll meet your fire support or just stall them from advancing.

Redline sniping is a different thing entirely

Camping is when someone doesn't drive too far from the cap circle / can't provide cover because he's too far away / taking a position and then not advancing and wasting time. In the end he gets a few shots and bye bye :)
