But we still get a garage slot instead of 300 gold? :D

Nope, I'll pass, I had enough already in 1st season :)

In other words. Not many are playing this gamemode cause it is frustrating and not fun at all.

Changing rules while event is ongoing is never a good thing, only causes more frustration and disappointment. I have given up ranked already during season 1, but this change here makes even me think lower of WG. Gg WG.

So, instead of removing the annoying part - losing ranks, you keep the cause of that "I just wasted a couple of hours of my life for nothing" feeling and try to reduce the consequence? Gj!

What kind of pathetic move is that? Also would you have ever come up with this well written article if it would not have been for the thread on the forums which by the way emerged roughly 10 hours earlier than your 2 lines of text?

Also lets interpret a bit here: Ranked season 2 is an entire disaster. Trying to hide the by lowering the entry requirements IN THE FREAKING MIDDLE OF THE SEASON? Who is the genius behind that. Come on boys. Lets also do that in other sports, lets pick football. Just mid season we will casually announce that the true winner now will be place 9 instead of 1.

You cannot touch the rules of a season in the season. And that my dear Wargaming is coming from me, who actually benefits from that change. I mean thats yet another low and pathetic move.

I cant even. Another sad story in the ever ongoing book called "The greatest success stories of the indi game developer Wargaming".

I really appreciate this change, though I never understood this "double filtering" in the first place. I mean a few points to enter are understandable, so players, that just tried out this gamemode and played a handful of (victorious) battles are not included. But reaching 12 points, 4 per stage on average just to be included in the leaderboard and to get nothing then, does not make any sense to me.

But then again you already do not reward the bottom half of the leaderboard anyway. Either way you could just adjust the reward steps and reward less percentage, but therefor include simply everyone in the leaderboard (with at least one battle played in ranked) or you could keep the point limit to enter the leaderboard, but extend the reward steps, so everyone, who made it in the leaderboard, gets a reward. I think the second version would be the most sensible one and it would still allow the control of rewarded bonds on the fly, by adjusting the points-to-enter, if there is a need for it (bonds economy).

I agree with this... Changing rules in middle of event...

When i saw that you are going to give 10 chevrons per game(in wining team), instead of 15 (12 and 3 in losing), i knew it is going in bad direction, and it is going to be very hard to get rank5. But then, like this is not bad change already, you deside to increase number of chevrons that is needed for rank5...2 very bad things.

First, you cant progress when you lose,in best case you will be neutral. Second, just when you win, and then you need to be in top10 by exp, you will get chevron....So bad sistem and that is why people wont play it. I played maybe 10 games in season 2 and give up. In season one i finished in 1400th place. Bad mode for now, very bad....

I was wondering if something was wrong, or if I was just plain useless (as I can’t keep chevrons).  With the high number of 15-2 games I’m seeing every night, I suspect it’s not just down to me being useless.  We are not ending up with skills balanced teams.

On top of that, the psychological balance is wrong.  I work for an employer who tried to incentivise staff by only giving the “best 25%” a bonus.  What happened?  Everyone worked really hard for the first year, and 75% of staff got nothing for their efforts.  So the next year, no one bothered trying.

Punishing people when they put in extra effort means they won’t put in extra effort.  There has to be a reward or at least a feeling that they are not being penalised (especially in a team environment).

On that basis, removing ranks and chevrons discourages players and will lead to them not bothering.  So stop removing them.  If you win, you go up.  If you lose, you stay put.

True.

It doesn't even work with dogs, let alone with people. :teethhappy:

Week 1 I was 1 chevron away from rank 3. I lost every battle afterwards bringing me all the way back. Sometimes I didn't lose chevron but it was all pretty much out of my control.

This event catered for the top of the top players. So go ahead and have your fun and get your steroided equipment. Then you can even have more fun pubstomping. Why seal club at tier 3 when you can do it at tier 10

WG are hoping to stimulate a surge in player numbers in Part 3 to salvage Ranked.  Wonder if many will try to make up the points.

Smart move by WG to please the die-hards.

I suppose that to many of them realised that after hundreds of games they reached 12 points and still would still fall in the bottom 50% of the ranking, and were about to get nothing after all.

By enlarging the group, the die-hards will be more easily rewarded. I grant them the reward, they did put in the effort, but the way WG did this is questionable. A lot more players would try to get the 6 points and maybe ranked battles wouldn't be dead.

Who will start the 3th season, not knowing how many and which changes they will make during the season??

I will get 3 times to rank 1, I will get 3 times 100 bonds and time 'lost' would only be a few games. If I had know that 6 points was enough, maybe I would have tried harder to make it to the leaderboard.

The points needed was already an issue in the first season because on the NA-server, one only needed 12 points instead of 16. And now they changing it again.

--> only sollution for WG: admit guilt and give everybody the gold

I share your pain.  I went from 3.2 to 1.0 in an hour.
