In those typical 2-3 minutes of a lower tier battle where either their or the enemy's team just magically evaporates? No challenge for reflexes, no mental contest.

They learn they should use cover until they figure out what the hell is going on. :P

That they should pick one or more of the following:

1. Buy a premium tank

2. Play drunk

3. Play another game

The first 200-whatever battles are 'shielded', though, so hopefully that player haven't listened to common sense and claims that you should play a lot of T1/2 to learn the game properly before progresing.

Actually good advice would be to get started on e.g. the US MT line (you get a crew for the T2 Med. with sixth sense, and the line stays MT throughout - unlike the Soviet LT and German LT) as soon as possible. That one also allows jumping to the heavy line if need be.

Probably not much learned.

Maybe except that scouts are for rushing and spotting as many enemy tanks they can, before theyre a smoldering wreck.

Heck, i still do that sometimes.

Hopefully they just enjoy the game, and after a few thousand battles, decide to not suck nearly as much, and apply themselves and tries to get better. By reading stuff, YouTube, etc etc.

No idea. I don't know if they did something about the tutorial since I started, but they really really need to teach players more about the base mechanics like spotting and how armour works etc.

The will to improve should come from the player. There are more than enough sources to learn how to play the game other than from the minimum that WG provided for ages. How else would non stat padding best wot players get their good stats? There is no excuse to suck and blame the game for the lack of information in the information age imo.

They hopefully learn to have inner fortitude which carrys them through to the higher tiers in a blaze of glory. For those that don't learn inner fortitude they instead learn how to post whine threads on the forum.

Low tier battle was hopeless in teaching new players how to play tanks when I began playing, and it still is now (probably worse due to gold-noob seal-clubbing premium tanks).

Whine or dine, at least my threads are about gameplay, which is what this section is all about when not taken over by images of cats with adolescent innuendos.

As for learning about gameplay by watching good replays with commentary on YouTube, etc., that is all good and nice. But when after having watched that you come back to the game and are treated to the same unbalanced debilitating roflstomps ad nauseam, you might have as well watched Empire (1964).

They learn to blame their team, premium ammo, arty, invisible TDs, etc. etc. etc.

Anything but themselves because they came into this game already being a pro tanker and should win every battle, solo.

They learn to blame rigged MM of course, or they get good.  One or the other.

I think some 'whine' threads could be better described as 'squeak' threads.

That happens if they bot their way up to the higher tiers without learning the very basics, like telling the front of their tank from the butt.

To be fair, in the other tank game you can actually use the butt of the tank as "extra armor" - the engine soaks up shells before they reach the crew compartment. It gets a little BBQ-y after a while, though.

I did the same. 850~ battles on IS6 and like 981 dmg per game, same with CDC, 300+ battles and 42% winrate and 700 dmg per game, but apparently according to many idiots that message me in garage "i am a reroll", it's as if they didn't even bother looking at my stats.

Al though it is stupid to go directly to tier 8 when u start, it did get me a lot of credits, but tbh even with those credits i still sucked in other lines so yeah, i still had like 48% bot winrate after like 6k games...

Honestly I have no idea how i went from 400→1100 wn8 bot level to 1700 wn8 bot-ish, it kept going up the more i played, and i never watched streams etc.. it got up to 2400~ wn8 and stayed there for quite some time, then i started watching streams and youtube vids and now i am 3k+ al though i still feel that i suck

But at least after 9k games i started getting unicum days.. no idea how people with 15k→20k→30k→50k→90k+ battles still bot around at 1500 wn8 etc

i have a friend with 15k games, and only 1.8k recent wn8, he hates WoT and gives no effort to improve at all... i dont understand that, if u are bad.. how do u have fun? Because he isn't having fun at all, he says it everyday

New players don't learn much

Some players, never learn

they learn that the tanks are not balanced then they draw a fish and join the digers and spam gold,so to sum up

1. draw a fish

2. join dingers

3. spam gold

this equates to happiness
