I just had a game where accidently (some bug) i couldnt see any information about my team or the enemy...not the names, not the type of tanks, or statistics, nothing...

and i tought, well.. it would be fun (i think) if we had a game mode where we wouldnt know what type of tanks the enemy team had

till only spot them, the same with the players...

I personaly think this would turn the game more interesting, unpredictable and perhaps would also affect the way many people play the game...

Because lets be honest, any experienced player will adapt his gameplay depending on the map and the line up ofr the battle..

some heavies would decide to go place X ratter than place Y because they would expect certain player or tank to be there and dominate.

And this makes the game more predictable...

What do you think about this, would you agree? not like this "hidden" enemies before they are spoted?

we don't need more randomness in the game. And some clanwarthingy already hides the info until spotted.

But its not randomness, the idea is simply to make the game more surprising, the surprise effect is one of the key features of any war, and this is a war game...

it would certainly open doors to many different tactics to win a battle.. and how surprise the enemy.

If the game wasn't that broken (especially with all the tiny corridor maps), I would actually like that. But right now? Hell no.

But it is randomness. You cannot adapt to the opposing team so you have to chose a tactic randomly.

And no, this isn't a war game. This is a arcady driving around shooting pixel tanks-game.

It would make the came way mroe campy and less room for deployment tactics, NO.

It's been suggested several times but the result will be everyone being too scared to move until they know what is on the other team.

And they are afraid to move when they see what's coming on their flank....same difference.

Fog of War is a good idea for this game which would more than likely be horribly implemented by WG.

No that would only lead to more camping. One of the worst ideas I have seen in a while.

So what you're saying is that I, in my slow super-heavy tank should go heavy corner, uncertain if there even are any enemy heavy tanks in the game?

Which could pretty much put me out of action for 90% of the game while I slowly trudge through a mostly unopposed flank into the enemy base and sit there waiting for the enemy to come back?

If so, I might as well never leave the base because the enemy is sure to come to me while I have to take a gamble to encounter one if I move.

The game is already unpredictable enough. Being able to guess the enemy movements based on their team composition, map, stats etc. is one of the few things that you can do to fight the sh*t-show that is RNG.

EDIT: Really? They auto censor sh*t..?

I'd love to be surprised by a Godzilla waiting around the corner...

If by many different tactics you mean camping, camping and camping, then yeah, sure.

Sure it would - I'm certain a lot of players - including me - would simply stop playing altogether...

They did test that for randoms a few years back. It was not well received, and thus not added. It made it as far as to hit CT, only was on the first stage.

True. But if you are in a slow HT, and notice to late that the enemy team is medium and light heavy, and your lane is empty. It's not gonna help much. And that's why most hated it.

It will... but the wrong kind of predictable. As in a camp fest. As CT did prove. "Don't know the enemy class line up. So lets camp and wait until we know" kinda predictable. And thus the 2nd reason why most hated it.

How, exactly, would this make the game better?

Besides, you know exactly how many, and usually which tiers, enemy TDs, LTs and arties there are (at least 99% of the time) by looking at your own team. This would only lead to people going "where they're supposed to" (according to class) in fear of not meeting any tanks. Currently you can at least figure where the enemy Maus platoon is likely to go, and try to either avoid or counter them.

So frankly this IS a good idea apart from the fact that most people are such puss essays  that they don't have the balls to play an online tank game and risk a non-real death in a game because of their stats might look bad and then get ridiculed on a forum. :hiding:
