World of tanks is becoming boring for me, i feel like its just the same crappy MM and the same maps over and over. The MM doesn't bother me anymore, got used to it, but its always the same maps and its boring now, I took a break from tanks awhile ago and Ive just come back and I'm bored all over again, ive spent some a lot of time and money on this game, i don't want to just give up. I think, instead of you guys trying to grab as much money as you can buy releasing more and more tier 8 prem tanks you should look into more maps, if that's too hard for you guys then add the old maps back, even rework them a bit and done, i would rather have unbalanced maps (that's why your removed maps right???) than having the same 10 map rotation, its just boring now. bring back hidden village, northwest, pearl river, port, severogorsk and south coast add some variety back into the game and add more challenges caz that's what those maps had. Even add them all in for a month and see what players think, please???

The one thing that I would ask for is the old maps......getting a bit cheesed of with this rotation of maps, after 8 years we appear to be going backwards with regards to maps. It's very disappointing.

I say return the search function to the forum first.

As for old maps, they were generally removed with good reason.

No time for new maps since they have been busy past year with HD rocks. Who needs new maps when soon™ you will be able to enjoy shitty Paris/Ensk/Kharkov/Pilsen/Stalingrad corridors in HD!!

If it were 'with good reason' did the expend all their good reason on that as the new maps are much worse.

I absolutely wouldn't mind if the game had a "legacy mode" - alongside standard battle, encounter, defense - a mode that adds old maps. The mode would be disabled by default. You acknowledge they are unbalanced as you enable it, and they are added to the rotation.

so what are you talking about ?

port

NW

south coast

pearl river

sacred village

dragon ridge

komarin ?

so we would have 50 instead of 42 maps ?

not the total numbers of maps is the problem thats fairly high compared to other games anyway

the main problem is the temporary map pool  of a about 6 differnt maps per every hour

if you had your 15min battles you would hardly see any map twice

with the 3-4 min matches you start to notice it rather clearly

writing here is pointless

and with the upcoming HD maps its even more pointless

as their "map" team would have no room left  to do anthing else

dunno perhaps some ofthat maps will come back in HD perhaps not. Perhaps they going to rework the "in use" maps first  as it would make the rework and changes cleared if most players know the maps rather that maps that are gone for years and that half of the now active community might never had played a single match on

also this wont be anything we will see within half a year  WG planned to make all tanks HD within a year and that was 2-3 years ago ...

thought over the last years patience might have run thin within the community

I did get a little cheesed off last night when in the first 8 games I played I got Pilsen 3 times (playing the same T8 tank all 8 games)
I can't say I'd like the old maps back as they were before my time so I have no idea what their merits were
But I would like a map rotation that only repeats maps once every 20 games or so - even if I had to wait 5 seconds more between games to allow for it

Substract tier-limited maps like Nebelburg, Mittengard, Ghost Town, reskins like Winter Himmelsdorf, Winterberg, Fiery Sailent, and the number of available distinct maps isn't so impressive anymore.

That would be amazing, i want that, then people can choose and people who dont like the older maps, turn it off, people like us, then we have it on.

It doesn't feel like there are 42 maps in the game, must be the map rotation or something.

But even so, there are like 2 maps on wots rotation i enjoy playing and all the maps i used to enjoy playing they have been removed, it feels like every map in wot i just go to the same place/side every time or i camp in the back if im a sneaky td, theirs no variety anymore.

But its ok guys, wargaming have listened, new french premium td coming out soon, isn't that amazing right......................

Those maps were removed because the fights was not fast enough. People complained of having to wait 5 minutes to get back the tank they were spaming.

Plus their maintenance is a load of time and money.

Put the base in different places, add snow and you have 4 maps and one maintenance.

Voilà.

Since we have this discussion again, what was Dragon Ridge's problem? I always like that map, didn't know why they removed it.

Same with Port.

well if you are againest limited tier or reskinned maps you would need to remove ruinberg and province from you list  too

even after excluding tier restricted and  reskinned maps  i still counted 34 unique maps

how many maps do you get from CS, UT, Quake, Lol, Starcraft etc if you exclude the user made maps ?

usually getting even just 20 maps would be impressive - 34 is almost 50% more

Discussion again because we don t really get answers.

Lack of balance seems a weak reason.

Dicussion again because some of those maps were pretty fun. I had many good times in Port, one of my favorite.

Discussion again because when you play thousands of games 20 maps is not enough.

Dragon Ridge was removed back in 2012 (when ever it was) caz people where getting bad fps due to large amount of trees, bushes etc even though its 2017 and peoples pc's are 4+ times better, they cba to add it back in. port was a physx problem, tanks would get stuck on the tracks even though its 2017 and there is a new physx engine, wargaming cba to add it back in.

Other maps where removed due to unbalanced sides even though a couple of rocks could of solved the problem and there are current maps in the game that are also unbalanced like highway, abbey, fisherman's bay etc

Port was a balance problem, south having a row of hills, while north had a brick wall that shells could go through. The physics problems was not tracks, but the new destructible environment mechanism, specifically, the shells would stop on that wall before.

Bring back North West , dragon Ridge, south west coast, Komarin large, Pearl River ans Sverogorsk old.

Who cares if they are unbalanced. MM is unbalanced, RNG is unbalanced. SO ?

If they are unbalanced in more competitative CW or ESL environment. LEAVE them out in their Realm.

Give us back the old Maps and Game play

I never understood why they removed pearl river. It was a complex map and very enjoyably themed. Long sniper games where spotting was actually rewarded, tunnels splitting up causing decision making, flanks and actual cover, not these cornerwank city centers we have today where you turn a corner just to see another potato aiming at you point blank.
