As far as vehicle rebalances go, this was done in the second iteration:

 

Conqueror (IX)

  • Changed the gun depression angle of the OQF 32-pdr Gun Mk. II for the Conqueror Mk. II turret from -7 to -10 degrees.
  • Changed the gun depression angle of the OQF 32-pdr Gun Mk. II for the Conqueror Mk. II tABP urret from -7 to -10 degrees.
  • Changed the gun depression angle of the 120 mm Gun L1A1 for the Conqueror Mk. II ABP turret from -7 to -10 degrees.

 

FV4202 (VIII)

  • Reverted turret armor buffs to 9.20 levels.

 

FV4004 Conway (IX)

  • Maximum top speed decreased from 50 km/h to 40 km/h.
  • Maximum reverse speed decreased from 20 to 15 km/h.

 

FV4005 Stage II (X)

  • Maximum top speed decreased from 50 km/h to 35 km/h.
  • Maximum reverse speed reduced from 15 to 12 km/h.

 

Super Conqueror (X)

  • Gun dispersion on movement reduced by 25%.
  • Gun dispersion on hull traverse increased by 20%.
  • Gun dispersion on turret traverse reduced by 29%.
  • Reloading time of the 120 mm Gun L1A1 reduced from 9.3 s to 8.7 s (base DPM increased from 2580 to 2760, same as FV215b).
  • Changed the gun depression angle of the 120 mm Gun L1A1 for the Conqueror Mk. II ABP urret from -7 to -10 degrees.
  • Hitpoints increased from 2350 to 2400.

 

Type 59 (VIII)

  • Ammunition capacity increased from 32 to 50 shells.

 

FV215b (X)

  • Received an HD model.

 

 

 

My opinion:

  1. It is incredibly ridiculous to give the Conqueror and Super Conqueror -10 degrees of gun depression.
  2. The ridiculous Caernarvon DPM is not nerfed at all.
  3. The Conqueror still can't mount the 120 mm L1A1 in its historical turret.
  4. The Charioteer, Conway and FV4005 still have their silly -10 gun depression.
  5. The tier X Super Conqueror still has worse base aim time than the tier IX Conqueror.
  6. Giving the Super Conqueror the same dpm and near-identical gun handling as the FV215b with all the armor improvements it has over it, is just too much.
  7. Super Conqueror did not need more hitpoints.

 

What are they smoking at the balance department, for real?!

 

 

p.s. There are a plethora of other changes, but I am too lazy to translate them from the Russian portal. I'm sure they will be announced here soon as well.

So buff the turret on the FV4202

Put it in the shop so we can buy it.

Remove the Buffs.

Are we sure about this if true going to be some complaining.

You shouldn't need to, since they updated the news item to say there's a 2nd test they should also have put the changes on there.

They announced the removal of the buffs before they made it tier 8 of the week.

yes, but it was nowhere to be seen on the WoT info page, you had to either look it up on a third party site, or do some digging on the forums.

Wargaming, while the changes to the personal missions are nice, I see there still hasn't been looked into the fact that I am forced to play arty to get all the rewards... (not even talking about credits and stuff. Just the camo and badge) That class doesn't need any more players since they are still ruining games... And if you tell players that they have to play arty in order for them to get all the rewards they will only increase the hate and toxicity in this game. There are a few ways to fix this. You could remove the arty missions, or have it only require 4 sets to get the vehicle, the badge and the camo.

And where had it been announced as being a definite change?

 

Common test patch notes are always subject to change.

So let's pretend we care and make the FV4202 somewhat comparable to the Primo Victoria. Wait, we are WG, let's screw this up royally and take away the much needed and quite deserved buffs from the FV4202 and make it  bad again.

All this while it will have to face Defenders, AMX M4 49, STG and many over tier 8 premiums with really good guns that can take it apart in 3 shots.

Just tried the SC - it's went from "meh" to "whoohoo" - the 215 had great gun handling but not much else, the SC now brings that with a sturdy package of armour. Time will tell if that's OP but it definitely feels more like the top of the Brit tree should IMHO.

You can skip the arty tree by doing well in other areas and there's now a "get of of mission free" card that lets you just bypass RNG driven missions as well.

You can't get the camos without completing arty missions. Camos require you to complete all 75 mission from the set. You can still get the tank, though.

WG give us one good reason to play M103 after this buff to Conqueror. 

But pls, dont tell me hull armor, coz this matter nothing if M103 turret weakspot is so big and easy to pen, and roof can be overmatched.

They didnt announce anything here officialy for the EU/NA region. It was announced on the russian vk.com wot channel  and made it to non-official websites from where some people picked it up. Not even now it is officially, since we don't have any new change log. We just got listed the change logs from the first common tests again so far. Just unlucky with the communication and the fact that they put the tank into the shop as tier 8 of the week.

 

 

However, from my perspective it makes no sense to revert the turret armor buffs, since the Centurion (as well as the Primo) got the same good armored turret with the same gun (identical gun handling stats) with a faster reload, same mobility due to a better engine and much better turn rates on all grounds.

For me there are no arguments that explain that change.

 

EDIT: They could keep the current (170mm) turret armor, but give it a better gun handling. I would sugget to go from 0.20/0.20/0.16 to 0.16/0.16/0.13 what is an decrease of 20% on the dispersion. This way the tanks would be a bit different and the FV will pay for its better gunhandling with bad turret armor.

The new competition feature under the mission tab looks promising. They now introduce competitions with different possible rules/goals/rewards and a live ranking so you know what ws your best result and whats your current rank for the specific tank/competition. Really nice.

Dont forget the Prima Victoria still has 150 more Horsepower than the Centurion for whatever Rea$on.
