it would be interesting to insert a checkbox in the game audio-settings panel that allows the player to enable or disable the annoying clicking sound on the minimap, at least I do not need a sound to see someone clicking a sector on the minimap..thx !

They could always stop dead people from being able to ping the map after death.

right click on the name of the clicker, then click to the "block for battle" then you will not hear the click sounds of the clicker when he clicks on the minimap!

Only issue here would be for those who legitimately want to tell the team where they just got killed from (assuming the shooter hasnt appeared on the map).

How do people think map spam helps anyway? Its beyond me how you can think a distraction will help the team at all.

Somebody who has just been killed can often tell the team where the enemy was by looking at the indicator, so perhaps allow a short time to ping the map once.

He can also just type A2.

Not always possible. When I am in a dogfight with three enemy tanks I kinda do not have the time to block someone who is spamming the minimap. There is just no need for anyone to spam the map. They should regulate it or forbid for dead players.

WG will NEVER block ping SPAM.

It's how the P2W dead baboons vent their frustration.

WG does NOT care that this venting craps the game for the other 14 players. :(

When was the last time you tried that? usually the spam hides the name. Its not easy.

With ctrl, mouse over the spammer's message and a little X appears on the left of his name, click it and he's blocked for the battle faster than right clicking and stuff :D

Seriously, I block a couple of map ping spammers every 1-2 games. It's just distracting and annoying and doesn't offer anything positive to the team.

Why don't they just include the ping spam in the disable spam checkbox? If I send a wrong command via the F buttons I have to wait 5 seconds, but when others want to bust 28 balls they can ping 5 times per second until blocked? Yeah, thanks.

Great idea and an obvious one too. TBH I always assumed it was an option settings and I just didn't bother getting around to finding it lol.

Totally agree and I'd actually go one further and suggest that dead players can do nothing apart from watch or leave, no clicking, no text, nothing. Unsurprisingly players tend to be a little bit salty, myself included, after they getting killed in situations in which either rightfully or wrongfully that player judged that they really should have had support or been covered by a player that was hiding behind a building watching or starring into space oblivious etc lol.. either way, makes no difference now, you're tank is dead, you are out so either leave or stay and just watch, should have no other means of interaction at that point.

Elkano's map ping spam blocker remains a fine choice for a mod. Simple and easy.

Funny how the whinest players are living examples of WoT not being that P2W. :P

well dead people can give usefull informations - while players of alive tanks still can spam the crapout of your map...

just implement a limitiation: no more than two pings within 5 sec in randoms - coordinated fights do not need that limitation as it would unneccessarily increase the coordination difficulty.

Do not think we should install a mod for something this annoying which WG could solve very easily

The mod still exists mate, I've been using it untill very recently when I deleted all my Resmods folfer to make sure I didn't receive a ban since they seem to be very trigger happy at the moment.

Anyway, it should be a standard feature in the game, to block people who send more than 5 commands in less than 5 seconds. Something along the lines.
