Sandbox. Oh my goodness the maps are beautiful.

But - loading issues. Sometimes it's bugged. It is frequently the case that only one team will load, if you are that team you rush the enemy base and cap to end it so that players can play again. Yes I know it's Sandbox, and you expect bugs, this is not my first time on Sandbox.

MORE BUSHES! Unicorns rejoice! Vision is back!

Instead of being three basic ground effects there are now eight.

First time I noticed this was when driving across a green field. I went onto a ploughed section and immediately slowed.

New Personal Missions called Firestorm T22. But they are bugged and you cannot see them.

Cliff - failed to load.

Redshire - more bushes and buildings in the middle of the map.

El Halluff - slightly flatter at edges, more buildings. Dead fish in river (no game effect) Alot more bushes in the valley in the very centre of the map.

Sand River - beautiful. The changes do not seem to effect gameplay (one game sample size)

Steppes - Now a completely different map. If these changes stay this is radically different.

Mines - both teams failed to load. Had to shut down the game and reload, it was not surprisingly a draw!

Mountain Pass - the other team failed to load. On my brief view nothing changed that will effect gameplay (remember only a single battle sample and no meaningful combat).

Murovanka - some flattening. Seems to play much the same. The flowers in the grass are nice touch.

Prokovohka - (my favourite map normally) Both teams have failed to load (boo). So I am currently locked out for 15 minutes until it ends in a draw.

Abbey - failed to load (now two in a row).

Murovanka - other team failed to load.

Himmelsdorf - failed to load. Both teams failed to load, have to wait 15 minutes for the draw as if try and leave get the deserter warning.

Cliff - my team only loaded. More destructable items. Map flattened on central plateau. May play slightly differently.

Prok - failed to load.

Cliff - failed to load.

I made a forumites channel on Sandbox. PW is play4fun.

Am I correct in understanding that users of Standard graphics will see a big fat ZERO of improvements?

The gap between Standard and Improved graphics is already enormous, such a shame there is no middle third option.

My son plays on a 9 years old PC with a Nvidia 460 at max settings, never under 50 FPS, some people complain just for the sake of complaining really.

Steppes is now a different map. Same name, same general outline. A number of ridges have moved. Now plays VERY differently. Will need to relearn where to make moves

Still need to download 5GB when I get home but looking forward to trying it!

From what I've seen so far actually it looked like there are way less bushes in key locations on the map (hill on prokarovka for instance)

Likewise, will my Super Nintendo play this game?  If not, why not?

I am also outraged my computer from 2007 cannot play the 2017 version of this game and it is the developers who should adapt to my shonky hardware and NOT vice versa.

Sandbox also has a bug where if you click on the button to report a bug it says it will take you to the appropriate forum page to report bugs but it doesn't actually take you anywhere.. :)

Anyway, first two maps I saw were Redshire and Murovanka and both seemed to be fairly similar to the old ones, some terrain contouring was clearly different but nothing completely drastic. For example the  drastic dips on the north spawn in Murovanka at the west side redline were mostly removed and instead the ground sloped down more gradually to the corner.

Mines was disappointing. The new castle structures on top of the hill were cool and all but for some reason the texture on the new high rising cliffs that surround the map itself on the outside were really muddy looking and just looked like the rendering was incomplete or something.. :sceptic:

Running through hay bales and sending the flying is more fun than heading straight to the enemy base and shooting the afk players (which is what most seem to be doing).

If you are having trouble getting in I tried tier 1 and actually got two active teams.

Its a bad map now. These rediculous sinping spots on the eastern flank? What the f*** is that supposed to be? Why are they added? They make the gameplay cancerous.

Yeh the bug is an issue, only had 1 actual game so far. Either you don't load or the enemy doesn't load.

Graphics wise I am getting the same FPS if not more from the HD maps, around 120-140 FPS on ultra.

Steppes is the only map so far that seems different, and as Wunder says they have added camping hills on the 8 line at either end, similar was seen in the Sandbox previously on the 'new' version of Steppes. Not good IMO, not sure what they bring. Sand River was basically the same just flattened out a bit more in places and prettier.

They are extremely pretty but not sure many will fix core gameplay issues with some of these maps.

Also have to LOL @ people chosing the Maus and other slow tanks, and then when the non-loading teams happen they all rush in to get their damage on the afk tanks instead of taking the chance to look at the map.

Oh well, guess that is where all the 1000+ damage per shot TD campers will hide all match while remaining invisible until you are halfway up that flank.

Because the community has been asking for more usable map space and less corridors so naturally Wargaming makes even larger portions of the map into no-mans-land where if you go there you'll be blasted for more than half your health.

I mean the whole middle part of steppes a part from the trench was already un-usable the first 1/2 of the match, so let's make even more areas which fall in this category.
