From the Supertest thread:

"Commanders!

Today we introduced a new map on the Supertest server - Minsk! The testing of two gameplay prototypes is in progress. Both prototypes are divided into a city and an open part. The size of each prototype is 1000x1000 meters.

The goal of these tests is to choose the best variant of the map and define its balance settings. As you might have noticed that the way it looks now is not final and will be reworked based on the test results when we manage to establish the final gameplay variant of the map.

Which variant do you like the most?"

Anybody play these map yet? Dont have Supertest server (acces)

Imo, the winter version looks far better than that copypasta of a summer map.

2 lines of buildings with a vast expanse of literally nothing in between and no terrain cover anywhere to be seen.

Looks like another terrible map tbh.

Not keen on the look of that massive open field on the winter map - TD killing ground, essentially looks unusable... Obvious sniping position on the high promontery at the end, also obvious Arty magnet!

That great long railyard shooting gallery on the Summer version is, I assume, intended to discourage Spawn Kemping?

Given that these are works in progress, I (strictly IMO, of course!) prefer the summer version - though both would be nice, just to add to the variety!- BOTH need a lot of bushes, wrecks etc to break up some of the vast open spaces that otherwise will be non-viable to anybody driving anything remotely slow...

Oh, and the big double-dip field on the Western side looks very like the field on Prok', so the same dynamic of mid-court sillyness for fast LTs and everybody else ridge-sniping until arty balances them :arta:

Oddly, watching the clips seems to make the maps look bigger than they'll probably feel when we're driving them, so perhaps the vaunted changes with the new map graphics will actually work after all ;)

Getting errors on images. Videos from The Daily Bounce:

Spoiler

Kind of looks like they used the good old recipe of open area+long open alley+heavy city brawling area. I see camping positions en masse, except for that it looks better than Paris or Pilsen.

Certainly nicer than Pilsen; I haven't played Paris enough to really have a handle on it, though frankly I'll forgive WG a lot if they just throw Tundra away :amazed:

It does not seem like 1000x1000 m.

look at minimap circles. Ensk size.

the first version looks like an extended / flattened rework of erlenberg and the second, a extended / flattened rework of Siegfried line :sceptic:

just more city maps surrounded by lots of flat ground and no bushes, how are you supposed to spot / snipe / support when eveyone's rushed to the city to brawl anyway, w'g just haven't a clue

The first version seems a bit more promising if they add bushes, trees, smaller rocks etc at those larger empty areas between buildings near the river. Looks like a map where every class can do something and there is plenty of space for flanking so thats always a plus.

The second version is basically larger Ensk 2.0. At least they were smart enough to add some cover on the open half near the border so it is not a no-go zone with one group of td hidden behind rails and the second group on that bump in the middle...

Hard to say how they will end up but in their current form I would still take them over paris, pilsen, stalingrad, kharkov or ensk (tier 7+).
