Forgive me if this is the wrong place but I was having trouble deciding where to ask this.

I have £20 balance in my Paypal account (Sold a game code) and was going to pay the extra myself.

If I do the 90 day via paypal will it take out the balance and then remove what else is needed from my bank or does it have to be one or the other ?

I have not used paypal before buying things for this game so I am unsure of how to proceed and at what stage I commit to the payment itself.

Why, I would have thought that a lot of people use paypal for this game themselves.

Also I don't know how the transaction is handled between WG and Paypal, I am hoping that the balance of my account can be removed and any extra required.

I did not just want to try it as there is a tick box about committing to the payment once you start and I sold the game code I got with my GPU in order to pay for the 90 days so it would only have cost me just under £3.

Edit

£4, I believe it is £23 somthing.

From what I know its one or the other, got to pay the full price form one source. So either Paypal or creditcard (or other source)

Thank you for the clarification.

Guess I will wait for a slight discount on the 90 before I go ahead.

Yes.

Paypal will empty your Paypal balance first, then take the rest from your bank account.  Unless you tell them to do it differently.

Been using Paypal for umpteen years.

One thing to be aware of with WG is that they will do it as a recurring payment, that doesn't mean they will take money every month but it means the next time you go to the premium shop you won't get the confirmation page from Paypal.

Paypal uses any paypal balance then makes up the difference from the normal payment source so it "should" be fine, that's how it works with ebay at least

But if its an issue phone paypal and they will be able to tell you for sure and its a free call too

As long as your PayPal account is linked to a credit card or bank account, when the PayPal balance is empty it'll automatically top it up with whatever's required (and no more). If it's not linked to anything then obviously it can't do that so the payment will fail unless your PayPal balance covers the full cost of your purchase.

Only if you tick the "remember payment details" box. I never do and go through the confirmation each time.

It'll be fine.

Paypal will just take the remainder out of your bank account

A lot of people here do a lot of things other fellow humans also do, it still doesn't make this the right place for that question.

Its related to the game so why not.

This is just as bad as playing World of Warcraft, ask for help people tell you to go to google despite the fact they may know the answer to the question.

These forums is a perfect place about asking about how payments are done considering this is the forums for the actual game.

Can agree on that. I love using PayPal because it's so easy to work with.

In the long run the advice of use google is a good one surely as for lot of information you get an answer not only quicker but it's the right answer and not, as often seems to be the case, someone who doesn't really know what they're talking about but will answer anyway.

Personally I don't think the forum should be treated as my own personal google.

It's what you want it to do. In general the balance is used followed by your bank but you can choose to leave the balance and just use your bank. You need to check your Paypal settings to see what has priority.

But where does google get its answers?*  Most of the questions I ask (at the moment they're usually about bloody iOS development) point me towards forums threads (when not SO, ofc).  I have no problem with people asking on a forum if it means the answer is available for someone else who may ask the question in future.

*Rhetorical question, for the non-English.

It's related to the game? It's a form of payment the owner of the game accepts, that's it. That's how related to the game that is. Next you'll want to know how electricity works too? I mean, it's related to the game too.
