Well in my earlier "mathematical" experiment I even made the mistake assuming a player would get a medal every battle. But the average player might get one every 3 battles.

So that being said it would take the average player around 5000 battles to get a single piece of improved gear. And only if my very generous assumptions are even close to true. It might as well be 10000 battles.

I can understand that WG does not want to flood the game with bonds. But these number seem off regardless of angle.

I mean how often does someone get a pools medal? I get one every 10.000 games and I am not even close to average. Why not offer a proper reward for such an epic medal: Tier 9 and 10 - 500 bonds, tier 7 and 8 - 250 bonds and below 100 bonds.

I.e. The "High calibre": Tier 9, 10 - 7 bonds, 7, 8 - 5 bonds, rest 3 bonds.

OP, in answer to your question - maybe it is because deep inside you are a Bond girl?

The reward given for the truly epic medals are an insult really. How many tier 10 Raiseniai's even exists in the game? I have never ever seen a replay of one. So how often do they happen? Once every 10.000.000 battles? 15 bonds reward for something this rare? Sure WG, be careful you don't flood the server with those 15 bonds... be very very sure!

Perhaps my post is irrelevant to wunde's OP. I 've stayed away from new grinds due to lack of crews. Actually it's the lack of at least 1st skill. Since I only have 1600 bonds I 've only considered 2 viable options.

Directives for temporary 6th sense and temp fire-fighting on tanks that burn a lot. The latter is rather cheap at 2 Bonds per battle.

i can agree on those... Directive are not bad option... from time to time...
Meaby much better for majority of players, then improved equipment.

Hi!

I'm new to bonds system. Can bonds be bought by real money?

If true, then WG's VERY clever. Those free bonds are just a tiny token ore reminder, that will make a player want to BUY more.

Effort-reward system at its worst. :sceptic:

No, you can't buy bonds in any way. You can only earn them in full tier 10 battles (Grand Battle or not) and by earning medals. The amount you gain for medals depends on vehicle tier and the kind of medal you received.

I mean just a bit of math here:

The average player gets a medal which gets him some bonds maybe 1 in 5 battles? Correct me if I am mistaken. So the average amount of bonds might be around 2 or because we are very generous 3 bonds.

Now a good equipment costs like 5000 bonds - around 1666 battles are needed to obtain a single piece.

THats as much as some players play in a year. That is odd.

Not everyone uses them, or saves it for equipment. Most of the ways to get bonds of late is for the one use stuff to. Like 6th sense for one battle, or 100% repair etc. If your "average" Joe plays a few games and gets a few medals here and there, the next stock grind might be less... painful early on. Heck I've used a few hundred points on that on new crew grinds in premiums. Helps loads when your HT crew can actually repair something, or your LT crew knows when they are spotted.

I misunderstood the use of bonds in the beginning, so I used them per battle for some time. Not feeling too good about that now, as I save them now to buy some equipment. Still I made good use of some 6th sense I still had in my depot on tanks that have no 6th sense yet. Really useful!

As said, we've done the math based on existing accounts:

http://forum.worldof...3#entry14797103

http://forum.worldof...6#entry14797466

http://forum.worldof...0#entry14797860

http://forum.worldof...7#entry14798047

http://forum.worldof...8#entry14849148

(pretty sure there were more examples in other threads as well, but too lazy to search now)

So even your 10k battles estimate is extremely optimistic and only when you play a lot of T10 tanks (which already net you bonds for XP anyway). Average players are more likely to require 30k+ battles, aka a lifetime for many people.

Even if you're only spending your bonds for directives the rates are still a joke. Gaining like 0.5 bonds per battle (which is already unrealistic high for most people) you're looking at like 500+ games to compensate for one perk to be trained (assuming it's the first).

I think you way over estimate your average player.
