I've been having some games in WoT lately and I must say it hasn't been disappointing compared to the utter garbage meta I left in. Although the new MM system still doesn't strike and hit for me, it hasn't been crippling so far. Tier 8 premiums are still in huge numbers on the battlefield, but tbh I fail to have situations in which the "broken" Obj 252 or Skorp G have been bothersome. So far so good. However, I'm not praising WG considering they're not there yet.

But I think: let's start with small things. Now I know, this forum is spammed with "remove gold, remove arta, remove WT auf E 100, fix MM" threads, which is ironic considering WG doesn't seem to bother about the EU forums (although I haven't factchecked that in a while). But I've seen some things of which I thought: this might lead to something interesting.

1. very, very simple feature: damage panel shot range.

I've played a few rounds in the S-Tank to come across a personal mission in which you need to fire 3k dmg from 250+ m. Because aiming is important (orly) I never pay full attention to the indicated crosshair range. A very simple solution: add to the damage panel, additionally to damage, crits, etc how many meters the target was away from you. It makes keeping track of the mission easier, for me.

2. Badges Badges Badges Badges (okay I might have annoyed you there :) )

The Personal Missions UI had a drastic improvement. Additionally, the campaigns you've completed come with a badge to put next to your name. Now I don't really see the point of that: it indicates a suspiciously non-representative skill measurement. But the base for these badges, is a nice one for my suggestion: you can make your own badge by uploading a picture or whatever, and then make it visible to other players. This way, we can have a built in forumite mod. Saves us (Baldrick the tech guy that is) the effort of integrating it without XVM. But next to that, I think it's interesting to have a badge next to your name on which you have a bit of influence.

3. Remove Mines from tier 8-9-10

I never said I wouldn't be controversial. I've never been giantly involved in map discussions because I don't particularly "hate" any map, except Mines. I have had some okay-ish games on it, but it seems like the quantity of the Mines map appearance is increasing. Which stinks, because that map is garbage and it shouldn't reach the tiers where your VR is 3/4 the map. Good games aside, I can't dig out a game of the recent memory in which I walked away with a game on Mines of which I thought: wow, this could only be possible on this map with this tank, because the map is stupid.

Well anyway. I might get back into playing a lot more but first there's some other things to take care of. I atleast fully agree with some British tank buffs; great job for that.

1. I don't think we want more clutter on the screen just because 2-3 personal missions require long range shots...

2.Who cares about badges. And people making own badges by uploading pictures? Not a good idea at all, think at all those svastikas and porn you will see...

3. Leave Mines alone, it is a decent map and every class of tank can do something on that map. Not the same thing can be told about all recent introduced crap maps like Paris,Pilsen,Stalingrad - on these maps heavy tanks are master-race...

He means badges would be local only.

I think.

1. An optional mission tracker would be a better idea, although I'm not a fan of people chasing personal missions.

2. Yes.  This was discussed elsewhere, give more of these pointless trinkets out, Beta testers should have a badge, we should get a birthday badge every year, badges for epic medals.  Only allow one to be shown as currently but I don't see why we can't all show off.

3. I don't mind Mines, at least it rarely ends in a campfest.

It's surprising how many people do this.

People who change their name to a certain German führer or a certain Russian fellow usually last 2 days before moderation kicks in. Same goes for inappropriate badges. And @Baldrickk, I did mean universally seen for all players, so that anyone can upload a forumite badge and everyone can spot them as forumite.

Are we playing the same mines? Where meds either get arta'd on the islands or deathrush the hill, which works only 5% of the time so meds are useless, heavies only clusterfuck in spots where the usual TD camp off, if you are a TD you either need 100% camo maxed out or some crummy LT spots you when camping the base, and arta just clicks and hit something because a T92 with premium HE can hit the bottom right corner and splash the top left. That was the map you're referring to?

Normally I wouldn't be, but this seems obvious and it doesn't clutter the screen that much to me.

It seems to always work for one side or the other.

I'm not too keen on it in a TD but don't mind it in arty as it's one map where it's worth looking for tracers and countering.  Heavies have a choice of routes, meds have a choice of routes, lights have a choice of routes, campers have almost nowhere to go.

1. can be estimated with your view range circles quite easily, if the target is closer to the max spotting range than you, chances are it's 250 metyers away.

2. I wouldn't mind more variety in the badges either, just don't go way overboard with it. If you allow people to make their own, the first day we'd have dickbutts driving around everywhere.

3. Mines is a tricky map. On one hand I don't like it one bit at tier 10, but on the other hand at least you can't shoot from one spawn to the other, unlike Ensk. So if one of the smaller maps should be removed from high tiers I'd say Ensk.
