Jorktaun? Seriously? ...  :Smile-hiding:

Quote

On 12 February 1988, while the Yorktown was exercising the "right of innocent passage" through Soviet territorial waters (a transit which, according to Richard L. Armitage, then Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, "from an operational standpoint" was "not necessary") the Soviet Burevestnik-class frigate Bezzavetnyy (Russian: Беззаветный) intentionally collided with Yorktown with the intention of pushing it out of Soviet territorial waters, in what some observers have called "the last incident of the Cold War".

On March, 13th, 1986 the American cruiser "Jorktaun" and a destroyer "Keron" have come on 6 miles into our maritime belt on Black sea around southern coast of Crimea. Thus by the ships all radio engineering means of conducting investigation worked.
In two years, on February, 12th, 1988, in Black sea there were same American ships and have straight gone to our coast. Without paying attention to numerous preventions of the boundary ships "Izmail" and "Yamal" and patrol ships "Selfless" and “СКР-6” about approach to maritime belt USSR, the American ships didn't turn off from a provocative course.

When to our waters remains only 3 km, "Selfless" has passed on on "Jorktaun" the unambiguous warning: “To an input in maritime belt USSR – 3km. In case of infringement by you террвод I have an order to force out you up to навала”. At ten o'clock 45 minutes the American ships cross on February, 12th frontier of the USSR. "Izmail" has lifted a corresponding signal, and “СКР-6” has moved on a destroyer "Keron". "Selfless" began to come nearer to "Jorktaunu" and at 11 o'clock 02 minutes a nasal part has pulled hard on the left board of the American cruiser. The metal gnash was distributed: on "Jorktaune" the board is rumpled, are bent a handrail and launcher PKR "Harpoon" is damaged. Almost simultaneously “СКР-6” leans on the left board more close to a stern of a destroyer "Keron". That has crumpled a board with handrails, and the boat is damaged

You obviously didn't get the hint... the cruiser is neither called "Jorktaun" nor "Jorktaunu"... it's called "Yorktown".

And I will repeat my question. What is it you want to achieve?

I thought I was in offtopic in World of Tanks. Not the 'Obscure naval incidents with factual errors' room.

Wanna play tit for tat on "remember this cold war incident"? because this could become a looooooooooooong thread.

I remember the Vulcan bombers doing their daily route and watching Protect and Survive at school.

Is that the same Yorktown that had a BSD and needed to be towed back to port?
