I only gave it six months when it went live so it's done pretty well so far.

Just wait for it. If I look through the forum posts 90% are complaining topics.

The forum has been like that for the last seven years, why would that be any indication of the game dying?

That is BS and full of confirmation bias. Every year has it's issues, but the current ones are nowhere NEAR as toxic as what was in the past.

I would take WoT from 1 year ago over current WoT without doubt.

When the game is dead? xD Or when its just getting to ridiculous. For example another tier 8 prem that has the same level as the defender.

If everyone who says "the game is dying" keeps playing the game, when do you think it will die? ;)

OP, are you like 14-15? If not, it shouldn't be hard to answer your own question. Just look at World of Warcraft... outdated graphics and plenty of other problems - people keep playing.

Beyond 5 years with ease. Could extend far beyond that if they keep updating things and make the game look better.

The game is most definitely nowhere near the worst state it has been in despite all the issues.

Shitty graphics, no proper physics, +4 MM, infinite amounts of 1 shot artillery, true pay2win ammo, a couple of top tier HTs that could only be defeated by another top tier HT. No top tier MTs, LTs, TDs... etc.
Now that was the worst state the game has been in.

Oh I had actually forgotten that when 2 tanks touched they'd both stop dead back in the early days, such an amazing game.

Indeed.  People have short memories (either that or they simply don't know WTF they are talking about).

Personal mission bug? Sound bug? WG is going in the wrong direction lol. Everyone should see this. Look at tier 8. Cancerous tier 8 prem tanks ruin tier 8 SH and the random battle MM. This will probably  never get fixed. Its insane it it such a big problem and still WG is too retarded for not seeing it.

Personal mission bug..yeah really devastating for the gameplay itself. Sound bug, very rare I believe based on the amount of topics on this forum, so its most likely due to a rare hardware issue which is probably very hard to pinpoint given the widespread variety of (potato) PC's out there.

Your Patriot and M41 Girlfriend fit the current Tier 8 SH meta very well so why complain about that? Maybe you regret not buying the Defender ?

And MM, yeah got its issues but it then again its still the same for anyone pressing the Random battle button...and the majority play4fun players dont seem to care.

Man do you think I knew that the Patriot was going to be so OP when I bought it?? Dude you can take away my patriot if you remove all the other OP prem tanks as well. I dont care. I would love it if they would nerf the prem tanks. And about the m41 GF. That thing was never even better then the WZ-132, the RU-251 or the T54 ltw before the LT update? And about the Defender? I dont want that cancerous thing of [edited]in my garage. That would feel like cheating with a tier 10 tank on tier 8.

How long do you think untill WOT loses too much of its player base to keep te servers running? If WG would keep going in this direction, I would say not long.

I think the implications of your OP were fairly obvious.  Anyway, to answer your question: This game will probably last for years, simply because long standing players seem unable to stop playing and those that are the angriest about WoT's problems seem to play the longest.  If the maddest players do play for as long as they do then the game will have no trouble retraining the happy players.

And look at the battle counts. Lots of complaints from experienced players who keep on playing. Why? They clearly love/like the game so they complain in the hopes of making it better. They're not leaving, they just want WG to fix the broken stuff.

"Broken" and "better" in the eye of the beholder. Many people who play would like the game changed to suit their wants more closely. However, it's WG's game, and they will do what they thing right to get a return from it, and continue to do so. That generally means catering to the majority taste, and if people are so fed up with not getting what they themselves want, there's only one thing they can do. Most don't do that.

Keeping the servers runing but with some crashes is easy. Remember how long diablo 2 servers were up?

WoT is hardly going to die for the next 5-10 years I think. It is a well-polished casual game, which is free to play. Any kind of competition will have quite some challenge to fight for the player base.

My guess is that WG will create some different genre on top of WoT within that time, so that it will get another 10 years :).

nope it doenst?? It is a question. Of course it will die eventually. You think it will still be here after 80 years? I was curious how long you guys would think that WOT would be alive.

and until there is competition for the demographic that plays WoT it won't die.
