Abolish RNG !

Why is there even rng in the game for damage and penetration ? It only adds frustration, nothing more !

 

Here a perfect example:

Just had a game with a completely incompentent team - it was 9:14 in the end and i was alone. Enemy TD missed me and enemy wz light just shot me, so i placed myself behind enemy td so to suggest to the enemy wz that i wanne kill the td from behind - WZ jumps out, i hit him for 209 dmg, when dmg avg on gun is 240, with 240 he would have been dead, with 215 would hve been dead, but not with 209 !

 

And for what ? So we can be lucky sometimes ? Armor of tanks has no rng, why does pen and dmg have ? Because of the wind ??? Because of bad and good quality shells ? This is a joke...

So would you be complaining if the WZ had 257Hp and you hit him for 263 or is RNG only bad when it's you that is unlucky?

Penetration performance isn't some accurate science, especially in the WW II era. So variations in penetration were very much normal. Why Wargaming did not model in armor variations (deficiencies) is any one's guess, but I would assume it was simply too complicated, too much of a challenge for them. So instead they went with BS overmatch and normalization mechanics.

I think there was something, possibly a Q&A, from a long time ago that basically said that they could model various armour types but it would just be too complicated for people to understand.

"Enemy TD missed me" and he did so probably because of bad RNG. If there was no RNG, you might have been dead right there, or tracked or whatever, not having the opportunity to even deal that 209 damage.

 

You've also taken less damage than another dude's average and survived, give us the link to that thread you made then. Oh, wait, you probably didn't.

 

No1 has ever come to complain about his high rolls. Not even one.

Well many things we actually do have in WoT are already too complicated for most, so moot point :P

 

Still I suppose the real question is, would it actually bring something positive to the game experience? And honestly speaking, the answer would be 'probably not', 'not really', or 'not at all'. Much like solid gun barrels for example. As much as I'd like to have them, probably not a good idea as it won't have any positive impact.

I can well believe that considering the number of people that seem to not comprehend that a shell will always go through some point of your reticle and, yes, that does include the tiny part that isn't covered in enemy tank arse.

Without RNG this game would be more predictable... no lucky penetration, no unfortunate bounces ,no casual misses, no casual hits...

 

why would someone want to remove RNG? RNG is good for this game... is what makes people keeping playing it... 

if there was no random events this game would simply become borring, repetitive and predictable... 

 

you dont want that... RNG is part of the game.

It adds variety and helps with balancing. Would you prefer to always do 120 points of damage with shots that always have 80mm of penetration? That would be utterly boring.

What if you meet an enemy with 121HP and 81mm armor?

Did you ever play other games besides WoT?

I hope i will find the replay, i can upload it, though it doesn't really matter.

The TD was a noob, that's why he missed in close combat, and yes, i would want to do the same dmg and same pen with every shot on my tank.

The action comes from good teammates and good play, not from rng...

 

If i wanne gamble, i go into a casino, that's not what wot is for..

Playing AW made me understand why RNG is still valid and vital, as they had 0% at first before they used 10% that did not work either tbh. As if it was gone, and you lacked even 1mm pen vs your targets weakest armor, you would run. And you did a lot of running in that game mid to late game. 

 

Tho... you can argue that the low roll % can be decreased a bit to reduce the frustration of that aspect.

For that one RNG moment I bet you missed 3-4 opportunities in the game where a better player would have more impact and won the game.

Schmeksiman, i don't understand, what your point is..yout hink, i am frustrated because i play bad ? i don't play great, and i didn't play great that game, but the fact remains, that it was an extreme situation, where rng ruined every bit of luck, that i had left - and the team was a joke...and however u twist my words and want me to admit, that i sucked, it was, and this 1 situation could have even won the game, cause i was in a light and maybe could've killed the last 3 tanks by advantage of view range / stealth. You sound like the perfect wot troll, Schmeksiman, nothing to the topic, but insulting anyway.

Anyone can point & shoot. Without RNG you would have been dead.
