POPULAR

list of quotes in latin by the crews of franken and stein

incipit pugna (the battle begins)

pugnamus (crammatically incorrect for let's fight. the correct form is pugnemus as it is a subjunctive)

penetratio (penetration)

penetratio perfecta (full penetration)

sine penetratione (without penetration)

recussus (ricochet)

deleto (destroyed. should actually be a normal nominative (vehiculum) deletum)

vehiculo hostile deleto (enemy vehicle destroyed, should be a normal nominative vehiculum hostile deletum)

vehiculo nostro deleto (our vehicle destroyed (again, it should be vehiculum nostrum deletum)

cingulo leso (track demaged, same mistake)

cingulo restituto (track repaired, idem)

edit: voices i forgot to add:

tormento leso (cannon damaged, same ablative abuse)

tormento restituto (cannon repaired, idem)

vehiculo nostro incenso (vehicle on fire, idem)

ictus perfectus (perfect stike, probably critical hit. i only remember hearing this once)

turricula reducta velocitate (literally: turret reduced in speed)

turricula restituta (turret repaired)

there's the recurrent mistake of using the ablative instead of the nominative. vehiculo hostile deleto actualy means WITH the enemy vehicle having been destroyed. for all latin enthusiasts out there

The only things I remember from my latin classes are like... mater im atrium est, felix filia est and... um, that’s like it

There's one line that ends with something like "tutu" that makes me chuckle every time I hear it.

Those voices are far less exciting when you remove the effects... :(

Because Latin was so mainstream, I elected to study ancient Greek instead, I'm sorry...

Haha, works.

Sounds like units in Age of Empires II or some gay roman hoplites.

Hope the crews survive the event you just know someone will make a mod to keep the voices.

Nah; that's probably a feature of the sound engine, haven't found anything with effects so far. The voices aren't organized anyway, though, so it'll be a ton of work (and Latin translations) to make them into a functional crew voice set - unless you somehow could apply the effect manually or tweak the game to apply the effect. Would be kind of awesome, actually.

it's not for a mod. a guy asked me in the american server how he can obtain those sounds to use them on youtube, so simply having them in an mp3 file would be all that's needed (for him). with effects i meant the fuzzy ghastly "texture". i'm not sure if i explained myself wrong

Maybe I did not make myself clear: The game/sound engine applies effects to the voices, the effects are not prerecorded.
