I just had this decent battle, and then got shocked when I saw the XP figures in the result screen. Apperently I should have camped the red-line like this toon mate did, in order to get higher XP.

It is just sad to see how WG promotes red-line sniping via the XP system like this.

If you look close, you will see that we did similar damage and similar number of kills, yet this red-line sniping unicum-wannabee got higher XP because... reasons...

Spoiler

Without know what targets you hit, it's still reasons indeed. But for all we know, he only hit tier 8's. And you did bully tier 6 or equals. Or he did lots o blind fire, and did not share xp with those that did spot anything.

Have you taken an online IQ test before? Would be interested in knowing the results.

@op for whatever stupid reason, I believe shooting more shots gives more exp. Don't ask.

Completely agree. It's unfair that doing more for your team gives you more xp. So silly!

Result would be an imaginary number.

The relative big difference in xp is not explained by him doing 200 more assistance. And rest are equal. Damage done. Kills. But maybe you missed to check the picture, who knows.

He shot at a Patton KR, I shot at an IS-3.

I think it is weird, but it doesn't bother me much.

Though if what mark is telling is true, then the xp system is kind of retarded. Shooting more shells -> more xp would be very stupid system.

Hmm. Same damage, same kills, he has more assist, he spotted a tank while you didn't. Nope, I'm still right. He did more for his team than you.

but just post a replay, the most probable answer is that you didn't spot for yourself and he did.

But maybe you missed to check the game mechanics, who knows.

No maybe at all actually, you obviously are incredibly ignorant about them. Allow me to teach you:

http://wiki.wargamin...nce_and_Credits

By the way, 22/35=62,86% penrate. 5/8=62,5% penrate. Funny how a redline sniper is more accurate than you and spots more tanks than you. Not what you would expect a redline sniper to do.

It is fine that you think ~200 more assist warrant 25% more xp.

Because penning a higher percentage of shots is such a skillful and relevant statistic.

Let me educate you further. At the bottom right of your post is an edit-button. Use it.

You should probably use all that straw you've collected for beds, not men.

btw. It's 223 more assist. for 25% more xp.

It is also 41% more assist for 25% more xp

Oh well, trollers are only fun when they actually respond, you haven't even posted the replay or replied to any of the probable explanations posted. You just ignore everything and keep hammering dead pony nails. Why y no fun :S

Penning a higher percentage of shots is irrelevant, unless WG uses a really stupid xp system that promotes bad plays. Which wouldn't be unthinkable, it is WG after all.

You might also notice that there is a difference between the quotes between the 2 posts I made.

Also, WG has never released a formula for how XP is calculated. In the wiki you have some guesses on what gives xp, but nothing is confirmed.

Any other game mechanics is irrelevant, and xp calculation is not, strictly speaking, even game mechanics.
