Gold rounds just damages the gameplay too much for what it earns to company. It "forces" players to someway invest money in this game by prem account or prem tanks. But thing is most players would still use prem accounts/tanks just cus it makes xp and credit grind so much easier and game more enjoyable. And loss caused getting money policy off from ammo types could be fixed whit better marketing, more expensive prem account for example 75 + exp&credits. Better customization on tanks, for example could make your own camo by urself for 5 bucks/tank.. you name it.
 

does it even need to be said it would make gameplay much more intresting and fun.

 

For example:

-Standart ammo just like it is.

-Reduce damage of "gold rounds" u can buy by silver for like 30%. If u get shot by gold rounds, you would still have advantage in dpm if ur capable dealing enemy whit regular crap.

And players still would have change to increase their pen for hard [edited]targets or just for having luxurios spare time from aiming weakspots :)

-Pay to win gold rounds could be as they are and just make em only avainable by gold again ? Just to reduce fuzz caused by this :P

Reducing damage of gold rounds would only make this game more pay 2 win. Why? Premiums won't get affected by it. As when the LT's got "nerfed", their premiums did keep the gold pen balanced for even +4 MM. Same with arty. There are two premium arties in the game. Even the tier 3 has more HE pen then a tier 8 arty. And they both did keep the AP and HEAT gold ammo options.

 

So then... half the targets you face on tier 8 has full damage with 250 pen. While you can only do 70% of your full damage.

 

 

And make them only for gold again? And this will fix it how? It will reduce the gold spam on you sure. Unless you meet a CW guy. That and if you see a Type 4 HT in your IS-6. You can just press esc and go back to garage. Nothing you can do.

Seriously..... just post this crap in one of dozens of threads with 'awesome ideas about gold ammo' we have already. What damages game play too much is players like you, and Wargaming trying to cater to players like you.

The problem with all these 'gold round' ideas is that the proposer never considers the gigantic implications for the balance of the tanks in the game if any change to 'premium rounds' was introduced. Of course that would be a difficult to envisage in the comfort of your own home and needing a way to win, but for the hell of it why not just throw out another 'nerf gold' idea and leave the complicated things for somebody who can think.

Well i wouldn't mind a up to 20% reduced damage.

Apcr rounds were lighter anyway and considering heat you could easily find a reason for reduced damage since it's not a solid projectile that can rip through multiple objects as easily as standard ap. I would also keep the price the same since most premium rounds give a significant pen boost over the standard tank round. It might be a good "gold spam" deterrent in the long run and the p2w brigade loses their only excuse.

But you do realize those lighter subcaliber rounds go faster, right? And are you aware that AP rounds aren't solid projectiles either? The only exception would be solid shot AP. If you want to motivate higher damage for AP rounds, go with explosive filler. Although not all Nations actually used AP rounds with explosive filler. 

 

Reduced damage for subcaliber rounds (and even HEAT) certainly is  a good option, but only after the main issues in WoT have been addressed. Of which map design and vehicle balance are the most prominent ones currently.

Wargaming earns more money by the current setup so it will not change back to the old gold for gold scheme.

Incorrect. OP will be able to cry twice as much since he'll get hit with twice as many gold round to make up the 50% alpha difference and I for one look forward to the day I get to read that thread.

In that case all APCR needs reduced damage.  And HEAT needs increased damage.  Oh and APCR being lighter would be easier for the crew to handle so give you a faster reload.  Ohhh we could go so many places with this.

 

Seriously, never try to play the realism card in this game.
