Just asking for advice on what modules to unlock.

Is it worth to unlock anything else on the AT-15 except the gun that leads to the Tort, or it's better to grind the 45 k xp top gun(mid gun on the tort) in tier 8?

I'v been looking at the modules  and the guns are pretty meh anyway including the top gun that gets a little bit better DPM.

Just curious other people who already did the grind .

I've already had all the guns from the other line before I finished this one, but I'd say definitely unlock the top 20pdr on AT15. Tortoise even with the 120mm is useless in 9/10 battles so minimizing the time spent playing that shitty box should be your priority. AT15 was a lot more enjoyable for me (still, just as "enjoyable" as stepping on a rusty nail). If you have the option - free exp it - I would If I knew how horrible those tanks were.

Are you high? You're saying the one amazing thing about the Tortoise is worthless. The 120mm is a great gun, along with having the highest (current) dpm in the game, it can pen just about anything.

As to OP since you're probably too far away to unlock the 183 before it's replaced I'd say research Conway first. You'll train up the crew more and the stock gun on conway is the top gun on the Tortoise. A free 60k exp gun. Also with the the buff to the FV4005, you might want to go up that line anyway.

I said that Tortoise as whole is useless. The 120 doesn't change that - it's a great gun but not great enough to offset the lack of armor and mobility. It doesn't matter that you have the highest dpm If you can't use it - when you have to take your time to aim at the weakspots, when you can't hit the target (thanks to the amazing wot accuracy), when the enemy is peak-a-boing and you don't have enough pen for his turret and time to aim at a weakspot (If he has any..,), when something like an E3 is trading shots with you or when you'll get raped by arty in the only position you could use your dpm. Sure, It can mow down tanks in seconds - but how often do you get a battle in which none of the things I listed happens?

I'm 81k into the AT15 grind and it is a total pita - a well thrown potato could pen it frontally and it sees a lot of tier 10 and 9 games.  I believe the Tortoise gets an armour buff in 9.21 but I'm going to have to grind it pre-patch to get the FV215b 183 and not looking forward to it.  At least the X2 specials are helping..

All of them. Stock grind on the AT-15 is not recommended.

However, once fully upgraded, the AT-15 is a beast. No matter what kind of battle you have got. The DPM is great. (The upcoming buffs are actually a nerf, IMHO.) The trick is to make use of said DPM. The tank is beyond slow, so you need to figure out where to go so you can put that DPM to work. Red line sniping can work, but I vastlye preferred tagging along with big, slow heavies or assault td's. Your main priority is to keep things tracked. Stop meds from flanking and keep everything rooted in place. That one game in a thousand you are top tier, you can bully your way through anything and everything. You can effectively angle the AT-15, you just need to keep moving while you mow everything down.

When I went thru the AT15, I skipped the last engine. It's not much of an improvement, as the tank is still very very slow. You get that engine for free, as it is the stock option for the Tortoise. As for guns - unlock them all. Tracks were needed to mount the either the 20-pdr gun, or equipment like Rammer, Vents, Binos or whatever else you're using.

It's not bad, just pray for good spawn locations that lead into right hand corners, on which you can hide your Commander's Hatch. Some maps are really horrible for you and can be an absolute coin flip if you'll have a good game, or not even have the chance to fire your gun the whole game. This is the biggest problem of the line.

I didn't say to go at E3s head on. Only that when you're forced to fight one - or pretty much any high alpha tank - the only good thing about your tank suddenly doesn't matter. Situations where you can shoot every time you reload are rare.

These days most tanks seem to be able to pen it everywhere though even at tier 8 with the new premiums.

1 big advice, but if you played the tanks in that line good, you already know it: good your positions wisely, as repositioning is hard and returning to defend the base as well.

You have the dpm to track them in the right locations and take the next shot to deal damage.

Sure you do. Unless he has a repair kit. Then he smacks you for 1/3 of your HP. If you don't have a cover then he'll take another 1/3 because even with 4k DPM you won't kill him before he does - and you're too fat to get out of his way. It might work against something like an ISU  or Borsig - but after you're done you won't have enough HP to make any real difference - in this thing you have to take damage to deal damage - can't do that when you're almost dead.

Suspension to help with mounting modules and go for the top gun then tracks and then demount the equipment and put something else in its place.

I have 1 suspension of every type for when I research a new tank so I can go for the top gun first then go for Tracks > Engine.
