Imagine it's at the end of the game. All enemy tanks have been vanquished... except their artillery. Now it's a frantic dash to catch these lone survivors. And you have spotted an enemy artillery piece first!
You open up. Guns blazing you see the health of the enemy artillery go down steadily and then, suddenly, it blows up!

...someone else got the kill! WTF!!!

Your own artillery killed it! Bastards!! Those accursed kill stealers!!!

I think you get the point. Would this game not need a way to optionally disable information sharing with friendly tanks? Disable it for all allies, for allied SPG's, for allies not in your platoon, there's many alternatives. Let's call it a greed button. "I don't want to share. I want it all for myself!" Then no artillery could steal those precious kills which only your observations could have enabled.

As a  frequent artillery player, it's not like my heart bleeds for those short legged little urchins scampering around the map, trying to get enemy tanks close enough that their pathetic guns can reach them.
However, I could see why they might want to keep all the information they gather to themselves instead of sharing, so as not to be outshined for example by colleagues with real guns.

Also, there is a bigger ideological picture at stake here. I mean, mandatory information sharing? What is that anyway? Does that not sound a bit, socialist, to you? Is that really what we do in the free world?

No! I did not think so!

The inclusion in the game of a way to disable information sharing, call it a "greed" button or even a "capitalist" button, would not only  prevent friendly artillery from stealing your kills, but it would provide a way to prove the supremacy of the capitalist way once and for all!

By correlating the aggregate performance of teams in random games with the degree to which the tanks in the teams have activated the capitalist button and restricted information sharing, one could easily find out whether greed did impact the performance of teams and if so, in what direction.

Surely there can be no doubt that providing players with the option of the judicious application of greed would improve the performance of their teams,  as compared to teams burdened with mandatory information sharing and the stench of socialist ideals and prove in practise the supremacy of greed and the capitalist way also in the World of Tanks?!!

So you want to turn of the "team" aspect of a team game. If you want to go solo, COD is that way.

But I guess if you got derped by that arty. You would rage at your team for not helping right?

Well A: if you have it and the guy next to you don't. They still can see it via his radio. And B: If you all have it off on a flank. It won't benefit the team at all. As then the others have no idea what or how many you faced there when you died. And has nothing to react to, or anything to see to help you in your little 3 vs 7. Suddenly half the enemy team is capping your base, and you have no clue or not warning about it. And nothing you can do as you are locked down on the other side of the map.

But I suspect if winning is not important, but farming damage is. Then by all means. Install a stock radio all the time, so you can't relay info to your support late game. So you can rage at "no help" when you die.

No, as I said I'm a frequent artillery player. I like playing artillery. Seems the best way of making the game playable when constantly bottom tier. T1 in comparison for example, basically a nightmare. Degrading artillery would not improve gameplay for me.

Oh... so you want no one to spot targets for you to hit when playing arty. Because they all have "greed" on. I see. Makes perfect sense. As soon as everyone on your team drives 51m away from you... blind as a bat.

You should have quit while you were ahead, it wouldn't have been the most stupid post if you'd just left it at that.

That's by far the most stupid idea that I've ever read here in all the years. Congratulations.

Hint: This isn't CoD.

I gave the OP a like.

For 2 reasons:

1. QPRanger hasnt liked it (yet).

and

2. More importantly, its given me the best laugh in ages.

Well done OP. Your first post is a classic. I look forward to many more insightful and meaningful posts from you. You brighten up the dull and dreary days of autumn.
