I read some post about this , seems the new system in this contest March of Nations, which you must SIGN IN voluntary on the game client, has below the new system for a massive detection of illegal mods.

¿do you think it could be possible?

¿do you remember another contest with the same system?

Well, it makes sense to have that system to make it easier to win prizes for those who read the text/care about the contest (you don't have to compete against random non-participants).

Detecting illegal mods... well, maybe some. We don't know what system, if any, WG uses. That's kind of the whole point. Discussing how it works is probably on edge with the forum rules, but generally systems like Punkbuster works on detecting any change in parts of the running game code. That should only work if mods are banned or only 'certified' mods are allowed.

Similar systems to what we may or may not have in WoT would work in a different manner. It makes the most sense to 'scan' for illegal patterns (for instance doing a lot of damage outside draw distance), or have a list of outright banned mods.

Judging from a certain mod that was declared illegal and then got the illegal functionality removed (through a config file parameter, the illegal code is still in use for a very secondary function that only serves as a 'QoL' feature), that is not the case, alternatively only the 'worst ones' are banned. Not gonna go into specifics, but those who allow you to know things the game doesn't tell you outright. Think highlighting fallen trees or assistance in hitting targets out of drawing distance.

(Speaking of the last one, in most cases that's simple experience in knowing where enemy tanks are. If you are in a tank with a lot of ammunition, e.g. the KV-2, it makes no sense at all not to blindfire bushes if you know you don't have anything else to shoot the next 20s. It literally has enough ammo to fire continously for 13 minutes per game.)

...oh, on-topic stuff to skirt the spam rules. Well, it might also have to do with not overloading the servers too much. Makes sense from a technical viewpoint to not run the scripts on the entire fudgin' playerbase. We know how that might turn out. :P

And on topic, I really couldn't give flying sausage to anyone trying to cheat in wot. Any 1000 WN8 bob can load up on all tha cheat mods they can find and they still can't even get close to my stats, and any unicum can play as vanilla as they like and I won't be able to touch them with my current skill set. You can bump your WN8 up by maybe a couple hundred points with a full package of cheat mods but beyond that you really just need to git gud.

Could be but there’s also the case that it makes it more difficult to try out what does and doesn’t get you banned.

Ah, little doubt that's part of why there's a certain 'deliberate ambiguity' towards illegal mods, which I actually support - WoT being somewhat 'cheat-resistant' anyway.

The part you quoted was as for why you have to register to participate. Doubt it would only check participants for illegal mods, though there's always the possibility.

Not readily enforced, but consider how you hardly can bump threads without them getting locked nowadays. Honestly, it can be rather hard to tell the difference between low-quality on-topic and high-quality off-topic at times. I tend to combine them, it's probably harder to edit every dang post instead of just removing off-topic stuff. :hiding:

...on-topic, it might also be the easiest way of excluding those who don't have qualifying tanks from participating, i.e. not bought any T7-10 tanks yet, which again fills the purpose of not stressing the systems more than needed (which is sensible).

You keep asking about illegal mods thread after thread. Are you feeling guilty? Asking if we know how WG does things and how to defeat them?

Where tf did that come from? :D

I don't give a crap about what others do. Cheat if you want to, don't if you don't, use mods or don't use mods, I don't care and that's the whole point. I play on the level I play and I win some games and I lose some, point is cheats really don't affect this march of nations crap much if at all. That's what OP was trying to make a point on and that's what I made my remark on.
