So today i came across a video on YouTube that showcased the new tier8 premium Tiger 2's on console.

In that video is shown the original 'elite' Tiger 2 with pretty much the exact same stats as on pc. Except the engine.

The engine that is used is the more powerfull (870hp) Maybach HL 230 TRM P45 which by far outclasses the current Tiger 2's 700hp engine.
Combine the 700 hp with the 70+t tank and you get an ,even by heavy standards, atrocious 9.87 hp/t output(the VK100 has 9.96hp/t!).
The premium "counterpart" of the Tiger2(Löwe) is at 90t with much better armor but still get a 1000hp engine which brings it 11.11hp/t.
Straight line acceleration is far from impressive as IS3's will fly past it and it will struggle to overtake OHO's & VK100's(eventually at full throttle you will overtake them due to ground resistances).
The engine part of the Tiger2 is also very fragile which in turn means that if you already used your repair kit and the engine is damaged you are practically immobilized until the repair kit recharges as 4.93hp/t   wont get you anywhere(note that i dont want/ask for the engine hitbox/vulnerability values to change, just noting how slow this thing can be).
Climbing hills is the worst nightmare you get in this thing as avg speed is around 9kmh and going downhill isnt much fun either as the speed limiter is at 32kmh.

In the current state of the game the Tiger 2 isnt by any means a viable tank for public games or,god forbid, competitive and im not going to pretend that an engine change will get me into playing it again   maniacally as i used to in pub matches.
What an engine change will do however is make it much more enjoyable for grinding through it and a lot better for Strongholds(where i personally like using it).

I am aware that this isnt exactly a hot topic at the moment, with all the other issues this games faces right now but i felt that this is an easily fixable issue with a solution already in place(console version top engine Tiger2)
and i assume it can be done right away in the upcoming patches(correct me if im wrong).
As mentioned above this poll is aimed at the engine and ONLY the engine so i would appreciate if we could keep the discussion on the topic and not veer off to other issues even if they are related or about Tiger2 itself.

I can't find the part in the video where the guys speaks about the engine. I scrolled back and forth, but couldn't find it. I would love to have that premium Tiger, as I still do enjoy playing my Tiger II. The engine on the Tiger II is pretty alright, but only on hard terrain it's speed is fine. I wouldn't mind if they put that 820hp engine on it =D I find it hard to judge how much influence it would have when playing it, so can't say if it would be a bad idea.

I used the video only to showcase the Tiger2's stats, the video should start at 5:27 where the stat card is shown, cant recall him speaking about the engine much or at all ,just wanted to highlight the stats part.

Just after 7:50.

I don't think that the speed is that important on the Tiger II.

Getting pelleted with ammo the tank was never designed to withstand is a bigger problem.

It only says the other one is already at disadvantage, or I'm just having no concentration at all :/

Tiger 2 is an outdated POS.

Is dosnt have amor or alpha to fight on corridor maps. It cant snipe on the few open maps with out getting wrecked in return by enemy TD's. And you if you want a sniper, play a TD. And it dosnt have mobility either to move around where is needed.. It has to commit to one side and pray to RNGesus.

It needs a 390 alpha gun, better upper front plate and better turret front plate, and some better ground soft stats.. I hate to say it but Lowe is a far superior tonk.

No, you are actually right.

He only shortly states the engine at 4:48.

Maybe well-suited for a E75-Tiger 2-hybrid for T8. Better upper frontal and turret front plate, the better engine to compensate for the added weight. Same lower plate, turret sides and side armor; which remains viable weakspots along with the turret roof and cupola - the turret and hull sides are basically only viable with autobounce angles; fits well for a tank with a more range-oriented role (even if that is somewhat useless in current meta) . Would bridge fairly well with the E75 (which could certainly use that engine as a stock one).

Current Tiger 2 would be an allright T7 with proper adjustments to the top gun DPM (88/L71 remains as a high-DPM alternative gun). Kind of like how the VK4503 works, but less agile and better turret. Tiger I is workable as a T6 (again with adjustments, keeping high HP as the main advantage).

Our PC Tiger II used to have that engine, it was removed because of Reasons( tm), same deal with the E-75, used to have a much more powerful engine.

Of course historical accuracy like that only matters when the vehicles are German, other nations can have imaginary engines just fine :teethhappy:

They compensated that by lowering the ground resistance values but it still means the Tiger II and E-75 are far slower going up-hill than they were before.

This not clever. A poll should have one answer. You need think more.
