So...   Wot Replays Machine.

Great feature of http://wotreplays.eu/ in my opinion.  But there is a problem:  it takes too damn long to record videos.

As an example, I uploaded a replay yesterday, and added it to the queue.  It started on page 51.

Today, it is now sitting right at the bottom of page 46, having moved less than 4 pages.  At this rate, the month will be over before it might actually get recorded.

It is currently recording a replay submitted over two weeks ago!

What is the point of having this when the turnaround is so long?

I see two simple fixes: more power, or allow players to upload their own videos to youtube and link them.

Well, there is a third: Do both.

What do you think?

Better than not having this at all?

Gift horse and all that...

I don't know who does that, from what I know wotreplays is managed by a team at WG RU or something like that. I can ask on Monday and see if anything can be done about it.

Well, if the chances are that the next patch will come out before your replay is recorded (and then can't be recorded because it is too old) then you might as well not have it.

I did say that I thought it was a good thing though.

Awesome.  I was assuming that it would be a head-office thing.  It seems just like WG though, having a good idea, and then not seeing it though to the point where it properly works ;)

I think yes, yes, no.

It's great to have a searchable selection of replays. To an extent, the videos are another issue: they're nice to have, especially when viewed on a mobile device or some machine that doesn't have WoT installed. Should people be able to upload their own videos? I don't think so, in case of skulduggery.

It's a newish feature, I would assume whoever is in charge didn't expect the kind of interest that followed.

I'll see what can be done and if they will be willing to share info with me.

What about a premium subscription? Or... gold cost to put it on page 10 right away? :hiding:

I thought it was a player made thing.

does this site allow to play any replay that you upload there regardless of the version or is it just a storage-share service?

It is but I assume there has to be someone at WG who has a say in all of that. We'll see what happens.

The issue is that people upload non-impressive videos like 500 dmg games  which results in over flooding the site. its a players issue.

I don’t see any reason why it has to be like that as WG are basically getting a community resource for free.

Exactly, so the real gems of replays simply get drowned in the heinz, unless you're as popular as shishx with an entire team of hamsters waiting to click your replay link.

Also, I try to click the replays of fellow forumites if I see them on the rare occasion I make use of that site.

I'm getting a
  • Wrong replay version.

message with new replays. I played the battle 3 hours ago.

Anyone else with the same problem?

Nevermind. I was sure it is already updated to 1.0, because I saw a replay... nevermind. :)

Hi!

Sorry to resurrect old thread, but it looks like this service is no longer available. The last replay with video is from 2018-06-13. Any official news about cancellation?

BR,  Iztok

No idea. I gave up trying to use it when my requests kept getting dropped.

Would be nice if you could link your own videos
