In the end i bought the t54 fp because it suits my aggressive almost suicidal playstyle and i have some gold left to buy a tier 6 tank and this one appealed the most to me.

Big gun with great pen,35 kmph top speed with decent hp/ratio,the only downside seems to be the barn like size.

I have the isu152 at the moment and not having skills like repairs and bia really sucks so a crew boost would help a lot.

Does this tank have crew multiplier like the churchill 3,or is it just the standard crew training bonus?

I haven't played mine in ages but back when I did it was often quite hilarious, but at the same time it was often rather frustrating as well, it's quite similar to the ISU-152, when it works it's nice, when it don't you're in a huge target that everyone prioritize. Now a days I don't see them as much and I can't say I've noticed them doing very well either so I get the feeling it's suffered a bit from the same faith as the JT 88, the game have evolved but the tank haven't, power creep so to speak.

I'm not sure regarding the crew multiplier, but I think the Churchill III is quite unique in that sense, think the SU-100Y just have the standard premium crew training multipler, which is still more than a normal tank though.

I found the SU-100Y rather situational, awesome gun mounted on a massive target with paper ammo (arty loves these things). Also the SU has an extra crew man over the ISU (it has an extra gunner) so you are going to need an extra gunner from some other tank if you want to train up your ISU crew in the SU. This could mean when playing the SU-100Y you may end up with one of the gunners lagging behind the other crew as he will be played in fewer tanks which could affect the performance of the SU-100Y (especially of you other crew have BIA and the extra gunner does not). Probably the best match for a crew trainer is the tier 7 SU-122S. Currently not for sale but I will eat my hat if it (and the rest of the Berlin tanks) don't appear in the Advent Calendar this year.

Just bought and you're right, su100y has 1 more crew member, that's quite weird considering that all high tier russian tds have 5 crew members.

It can be really memeful but get ready for inconsistency. In the end it is alot like the ISU-152, so if you enjoy it you should enjoy the SU-100Y.

Also what is quite hilarious is that the gold AP is extremely cheap for the damage it does. If you penetrate 3 of them, you have done 1500 damage already while you lose only 12k credits to ammo. Because of that, you still make quite alot of profit with it.

Havent played mine for some time but I can still make a nice profit even if I spam mostly gold AP. Generally you play that thing for memes and crew training, anyway. For immense credit making a tier 8 prem is better, and you happen to already have one.

Stat wise I do better than average with it, but, it's just...too big with limited armor.  I rarely use it any more.

The tier 7, is the one to go for if you want a soviet TD crew trainer.

Considered buying the box tank myself.

But every good player I asked, that had it said: Don't!

PS,  just realised there are two at tier 7.

Was meaning the SU 122 44!

Though the Berlin variant comes with a special crew with BIA pre-trained!

I believe the 122-44, is probably the better vehicle.

Though the Berlin one is not considered bad!

Good luck!

The ISU-122S (the Berlin one) has better DPM, 3297.68 vs 3050.36 for the SU-122-44. Coincidentally the ISUs DPS is exactly the same as if you used the 122mm gun on the SU-152. The SU-122-44 is the more mobile tank and it's armor is better sloped than the ISU-122S. Gun handling stats are virtually identical although the ISU-122S gets 2 degrees more gun depression at 8 degrees instead of the SU-122-44s poor 6 degrees.

So choosing between the two is basically a choice of DPM vs mobility.

However from the point of view of the OPs question, i.e. a good crew trainer for the ISU-152 then I am afraid the SU-122-44 comes up short. The ISU 152 has 5 crew men a Commander (also Radio Man), Driver, Gunner and 2 Loaders but the SU-122-44 only has 4 meaning you would need to find someway to train a 2nd loader for the ISU 152 as the SU-122-44 only has room for a single loader. The ISU-122S has exactly the same crew loadout as the ISU-152, which is hardly surprising since it is basically an ISU-152 armed with the 122mm D-25 gun.

SU-100Y is hard to play... never got more than 1700 wn8 in it, you deal 3k one game and then fail miserably because of the low camo/armor for the next 5...Btw I used SU-85i to train 2 crews for Russian TDs.
