I suggest there to be a quick key to disable/enable the team chat. It's impractical to have to go to the settings menu everytime.

Sometimes someone is flaming or they're just a complete moron, you wish you'd disabled chat. You can't go and do it during the battle, since you'd die. And sometimes you flame back leading to a classic evil cycle.

And sometimes you find yourself boiling and about to go all keebler elf warrior on someones [edited], and you think "boy I wish there was a key to disable chat before I make a fool out of myself".

I keep chat on now just to not miss anything. But I remember there was a period i had it off, and I found myself occasionally during some battles wanting to turn it on, usually in end game situations where I wanted to communicate with a fellow player who'd proved himself capable throughout the battle.

I really only see good things with such an implementation.

if someone spamming or being a   c unt  you can hold ctrl and hover over the message and press the red X icon, will block their messages just for that one battle

ctrl and left click on his nick "block for this battle"... job's done.

Tho that said, WOWS has the disable icon in the chat window for a quick disable/enable. So why not.

I think one of WGs later features, the removed PM and chat, was a good way to reduce toxicity between players.

The toxicity is a consequence of many many useless "c unts" polluting the gameplay. So unless they are not removed permanently from the game, they have to accept it.

I think having an option to filter chat from "observers" (dead tanks) would be a nice thing to have too. More often enough those backseat drivers who gets themself removed from the battleground within a minute of gameplay give...  "creative" suggestions and comments to others.

good sugestion IMO, it's getting really annoying with the chat servers being down/broken half the time, you can't even block/blacklist the ping spammers when it's down

you can become adept at esc-ing to settngs to turn chat off and back to battle during a game, but it's not always safe/convinient to do so, it's less distracting to do that than put up with the toxicity/spamming tho

this will also exclude people from receiving useful info about hp of enemies etc. so, no.
