Could someone enlighten me as to why there are 2 options for removing a piece of equipment from a tank eg Destroy or Remove??

Remove is simple, you remove it for 10 gold and have 2 choices sell for 50% of its price or fit it on another tank.

Now who in their right mind would Destroy it and get absolutely nothing??, which is why I ask the question as I am not obviously in my right mind as I chose this option to see what it really meant, well it meant I lost 250K. for being stupid.

Why don't WOT change the name from Destroy to IDIOT so making it simpler for dorks like me to understand making it  REMOVE or IDIOT, where in my case it would be REMOVE THE IDIOT !!!

It's funny how you think that people not spending money on pixels makes them stupid.

If I have a tank which has equipment on it, I have no intention of removing the equipment in order to place it on another tank, I will simply purchase another set.

If I no longer require the equipment, it is because I no longer play the tank and therefore I would sell it anyway.

I never lose money on equipment, I always buy on sale and I buy ALOT of it.

It's also funny how he himself seemed oblivious as to what destroying equipment could possible do... And be surprised that it actually destroys the equipment (well virtually anyway).

If it said 'Sell for scrap' and you'd not get any credits, I could understand the confusion. But now... Hmm, this (obviously red) button has a text above it saying 'LAUNCH NUKE'. I wonder what will happen when I press it...

You can always sell equipments. If there is tank attached to it, you will get more credits.

Lets say you have no gold, you have 3 pieces of complex equipment mounted, vents, rammer, and enhanced suspension.

You research the upgraded suspension for the tank and want to mount a GLD instead of the suspension.

That's when you would use it.

Guys guys guys you are all missing my point, I know what removal means I know I can sell modules and any equipment or dismount it into depot at point of any sale, my point is why have a Destroy option at all why destroy it when you will get nothing for it so why is it there???

and to RamRaid

I  also have a mixture of 124 vehicles so far with nearly all full of equipment, I am the same when it goes in it stays in, UNLESS that is I buy a new Vehicle and I want to say put both a Rammer and a Gun Laying Drive in, now I can pay 500k for each piece (Total 1 Million) or like I always do I dismount these pieces from a tank I am not using  for 20 Gold and fit them to the new vehicle job done, I then wait for the equipment deal to go down to 50% where I then buy the 2 pieces now for 250k each (Total 500K) and fit them back on the vehicle I took them off, if I ever sell any equipment I always then get back what I paid for it and NOT just 50%, I also NEVER LOSE out.

OK yes I see your point , but unlike you I would never make a initial selection of what you suggest, I always do the same Rammer & GLD and fit Enhanced Suspension from my depot that way I can leave tracks till very last, fit them and when at some later date I have gold then I dismount the Suspension and then fit any last piece of equipment I want, but I would never Destroy it especially now as I know from be curious and get nothing back, would you still do that if you had paid with real money?? I think not.

When you destroy do you get 50% of the credit value back?

Yes that's what you would do but what if you never had any gold and had a tank you never intended to sell?

Going back to closed beta there was no demount for gold option.  If you wanted to switch complex equipment then you had to destroy it.

I'm curious. How often you get anything when you destroy something?

The interesting decision for me that I'd like to know other players opinions on is vents. It costs the same gold, 10, to remove but it's actually a cheap piece of equipment. since you can only sell it for half, would you consider parting with 10 gold worth parting with 200k, or to sell, 100k? For me I fell it's worth spending 10 gold to remove

10 gold is worth 400 credits, you do the maths.

Yeah, it's worth spending some gold, as for camo.

Even if you don't buy prem account or tanks, you can make a gesture toward the community and spend some money on gold ^^

You'd think it wasn't a big deal, but there are a fair amount of players, even on the forums, that are staunch 'free 2 play' ...without much reasoning behind it.

No, you pay the price of being F2P and not having gold.
