Dying that is. This game. I only ask as I feel like on practically every thread nowadays i'm seeing someone claim that WOT is dying but personally I just don't see it. Okay, the NA server is perhaps in trouble hence why they're merging the servers or something due to low population but that's nothing new, Na has always had a low server pop and EU has always been WGs cash-cow just as water is wet.

Anyway, is there any truth to this, as far as I can tell, utter nonsense that the game is dying? There sure are stupid things going on in game at present including broken premiums, broken regular tanks, broken MM, stupid bugs that take ages to fix like chat not working etc but as far as I'm aware, WOT is still one of the most profitable 'free to play' games on the market at present.

TLDR; a lot of people seem to claim that WOT is dying, is there any truth to this? I don't think there is. :)

People claim that since the game came out.

As long as even we whiners keep playing, the game will be far from dying. There are enough "special people" who will continue to fund WG's moneygrab, regardless of what they'll do.

the game died when WT came out , it died when AW came out  and it died about at least 1 per months anyway at least if you read some threads on the forum

you got some seasonal fluctuation in players, a decrease in playerbase over time (rather normal for most aging games)

still with their numbers of players  and the actual decrease rate  WoT could be around for another 7-10 years

I predict it'll die again immediately after Christmas, after the New Year period and regularly until Easter, when there'll be a statistical blip that'll only fool us before it dies again. :)

it creates almost 1 new premium tank every month, which is bought by many, so no, it's not dying, it has a constant influx of cash, especially from RU server (and the chinese, although they are in a completely different universe to say the least)

the gameplay and fun are dying, not the game. NA server can revive if american tanks are a little buffed

Ask again on the 24th. If we have less then 200K at peak hours then. It would be the first time in 4 years it will happen. If not... then I suspect it's... as it's always have been. I mean NA has been on 20 to 15K for over 2 years now. It's not going down much. But it's not going up either.

I believe the game is stable and safe as it is like for over a very long time.

They started a new ad campain in Turkey for example. They are giving mid lenght TV commercials on prime time on very popular national TV channels.

so, I say they are still on the safe side.

PS: the commercial says, you open an account until 15th of january.. you get a premium free

Zombie horde keeps the game running though.

Everything dies/transfers at some point as soon as it's created or born so yes the game is dying in some respect but how long it clings to life is unknown.

Given everything is trending towards entropy and that in several trillion years even the universe will cool and die.  Is there any reason to worry about a video game?

Point being, enjoy the ride and don't worry too much about the destination.

WoT will never die!

At least as long as people keep posting these threads. These threads are the life-blood of the game. Post more!

Playerbase has been declining for a long time, yes. Dunno if that's your definition of dying.

well basically everthing is heading towards its death right after the birth

just the timespan to reach it varies
