Hi,

Please share your opinions about the german light/scout line as I'm currently grinding it. Not for the Rhm. but for the RU251. Is it a hard grind? And how are the SP1C and the HWK 12?

Thanks in advance :-)

SP1C lost the autoloader. Used to be my favourite tank to go and have fun in. After the nerf it got useless and I really didnt enjoy it anymore so I sold it with pain in my heart. Never played the HWK cause I got the RU-251 on tier 9 for free. But I think the HWK is mediocre. RU-251 is pretty fun to play still. Very fast and nice shell velocity. Also good gun depression and a small turret so you can play peek a boo in it.

The Ru251 is truly solid, great speed and agility, good camo rating , great view range , decent gun.

I use coated optics, vents and stabilizer and it performs well in open maps.

All that been said, my crew is reaching its 6th skill so even a Loltractor would perform well with them.

:hiding:

Have a funny feeling the tier 10 will be a downgrade of shorts ( regarding u will always face t10 battles).

Cheers

p.s. grinded the line up to tier 8 long time ago, so really dont have an opinion about the current version of SPIC or the HWK.

SP1C lost autoloader and is now even more a TD with LT camo bonuses.

HWK is similar to the SP1C, only it's bigger in size and the gun is slightly better (the round velocity is dreadful).

Ru 251 is still ok.

I agree, but I have some trouble with the low alpha on RU251. Also I tend to get really unlucky when shooting HE at soft targets. They almost never seem to pen at sides, though it has 102mm of pen. It should go through easily on a lot of tanks.

Only wanna add, that the RHM Panzerwagen is by far the worst Tier 10 light tank. It's utterly crap. No alpha, no armor and flips all the time. All the other lights are managable and fun to play. I think I'll make my own topic about tx lights after playing and acing all of them...

RHM has 320 alpha while having the same reload as sheridan (390alpha) and nothing else to compensate....

SP1C used to be glorious with the autoloader but that was removed because we can't have variation in this game. It's still fun though, but there was no need to remove the autoloader.

HWK12 is allright, played it some in randoms and skirmishes, nothing special.

RU251 is fun but having quite literally no armour it requires a skilled driver to work.

Pretty much this.

SP1c was awesome, but a bit OP.

Ru is still fun but, like mist light tanks in the game, rather frustrating to play quite often.

researched all LT lines before that patch. SP1C was fun, ru too,. Tier 10 it's my first tier 10 LT, and i dont like gim. Good aiming time, but, no gun elevation, and big reload time.

Tiers 3-4 on that line are monsters if you want to go seal clubbing. Tier 5 is good too with either the single shot gun or the machine gun. Tier 6 is kind of meh; not bad but not that special either. Good for ramming other light tanks.

I like the SP1C even without the autoloader. It's a very small and nimble target, so quite good at avoiding hits. The gun has decent alpha and is accurate. I think it's one of the better tier 7 light tanks. I haven't gone further up the line, as the tier 8 seems to be pretty much the same as the tier 7, and the tier 10 is trash like the rest of tier 10 lights.

a big "meh" in total.

Yes, the RU is fine, but if you want to play a T9-paper-tank with good mobility but horrible gunhandling you could pick the PTA too and then acctually have a gun with at least pen and alpha too.

Besides the Luchs and the Leopard the RU is the only tank worth it in that line. SPIC and Hawk are pretty mediocre and the rhm is more on his side than streight up and driving. Every even small rock and yoy flip over.

The SP I C was ok but I didn't really like it that much, despite the auto-loader. The Ru 251 was excellent, the perfect aggressive light tank but I haven't played it very often since it was moved to tier 9.

I think the HWK 12 (or Angry Dalek) is a fantastic light, though it should probably be noted that I like to play as a scout first and a damage-dealer second. Slap on some binocs, hide in a bush and watch the assist damage roll in. When it's time to fight the gun is about as good as other tier 8 lights but low shell velocity means it can be a bit potato at long range. I liked it much more than the SP I C, tried it after the Ru was moved up a tier and liked it so much that I completed the grind to the Leopard PTA in the HWK rather than going up the medium line.

That sucks dude, will finish the RU grind today or tomorrow, maybe will save my credits. Though my first t10 light sounds nice .

You could buy it and have fun with it for the first 10-20 games with it's speed and agility.

After a certain amount of games you'll start realizing how uncompetitive this tank is. You have to stay on distance often because all corridors are blocked yet you can't snipe because of that shitty penetration and penetration drop at distance. Every HE shell or arty shell will pen you and you'll struggle penning your enemies all the times. The reload will make you crazy for that measly 320alpha and most enemy lights will obliterate you.

If you play well you will be amongst the last survivers in a potential carry game however you'll notice that you can only carry to a certain extent on open maps like malinovka/Prokhorovka. All the other city or semi city maps will make your life a horror because how can you carry against well armored heavies on a city map where every corner is a potential death sentence to you.

The meta with type 5s, maus, E-100, Obj 140s etc etc. will get you frustrated because you're worse dpm, penetration, apha/rld time, - wise as almost all other tier 10 vehicles except for arty.

I have about 56-58% winrate soloing on all the other four tier 10 lights and on RHM Panzerwagen I have 49% WR after some 120 games.

For most players the RHM yields between 4 and 5% worse winrates then their average winrate:

Spoiler

I would give the rhm 390HP alpha WITHOUT nerfing te dpm/rld time at all and also buff the penetration. Other than that it will keep suffering in that meta....

the best advice is to keep ru-251, and wait for a buff for next one
