if you're talking about the borsig, that is a definite yes!

I currently play it with the 150, which while it has low base pen, it can still pack a punch, and if a jap heavy enters the game, it's 334 pen rounds will punch right through.

the other gun is very very good as well. it has 9.9~ or so seconds reload, with very decent accuracy, but for me, I'd just use the 150, as you won't get a turreted 750 TD until tier IX

I never went AP on the 15cm in my days.

Yes i also played the T9,but i found it boring relatively fast (despite having one of my best personal games in it).

I see where you went there :P

I want the waffle tier IX as well, it seemes very deadly, and also accurate.

also forgot to mention that the shells have 85mm of pen, which is almost KV-2 levels, but it has 150 alpha (i.e it can blast lightly armoured targets as well)

NO!

but if you are willing to use the regular 12 cm gun
to spread the love while being fully camouflaged and not to be spotted from at least 275 m?

go for it.

If you're not gonna spam HEAT from the big derp gun, then there is no reason whatsoever to play this over Skorpion

The thing is, this is not an original Rim. Back in the day (3-4 years ago) it was invisible and laser precise. Fond memories. I drove it just the other day after all those years - my God, where's the magic gone?

well, I once read a comment that the borsig 128 is like a skorpion with a dead driver, and for me, I'd rather have the massive punch, as it offers a playstyle that is rather uncommon. I also snipe with it (yeas, you heard me, and believe me, when the thing hits at long distances and pens, it's lovely seeing that) it is also quite useful in cqb, as while enemies can gun you down during your reload, you have a somewhat scare factor just by using that gun

compared to the skorpion, the borsig has camou. And its got a lot of it. :) This means that you can ambush the enemy a lot more often.

For me, that's what makes the 15cm gun the better choice. Take a posi and hit hard. Thats good for corridor and for open maps where you can use camou. HImmelsdorf, Ruinberg, Abbey, Mountain pass, Stalingrad, karkov, pilsen, Prohorovka, Fishermans bay come to my mind where the 750 alpha (ambush) can be put to sooo much use :)

The only maps I'd like to have the 12,8 are Malinovka and Steppes. Here you have to snipe a lot as youre too slow to go into close combat and still be able to retreat safely.

Be aware that the borsig's playstyle changes completely as you change its gun. In my eyes, with the 12,8cm, it's just a boring sniper. While the 15cm makes it a pack of joy and fun :)

However, you can accomplish a lot of missions with the two different guns.

The borsig is still one of my favourites @ t8 as it packs that massive alpha along with a lot of flexibility in form of insane camou and a turret to perform well even on city maps.

I grind it with 128... 150 gun has high reload and needs premium rounds. I find 128 gun better at finishing off peons trying to rush me.

i always felt like i do better with the 128mm gun highly accurate and fast reload, while the 150mm rather liked to troll me flying somewhere else, hitting the tracks etc and than it wasted quite a few more secs than a fail shot with the 120mm would have

and if you have to get so close that the worse acc. doesnt matte ranymore you might get spotted when you shot

40 €  vs 2m crds ? also last time i checked skorpion wouldnt allow you to advance in the tree

even using the 128mm  one got speed the other got stealth

If you're good, yes. So you should probably stay away from it. :)

I'll always remember one game I had in the borsig, I had around 6k damage, most of which I spotted myself. I was a noob back then so I just sat in a bush but I still wasn't spotted, great tank.
