Update To Post, Topic Change

To WoT Devs. Not sure where the section is for reporting game faults and I did look around the forum. Anyway, the tier9 AMX 30 middle gun has no reload sound which is not a massive deal but it's pretty off-putting and made me realize how much I actually rely on it to make timed snap shots etc.

Original Post - Quick Crew Skill Reset Question

Hi,

So with the risk of losing the female crew gift we received I went and bought the AMX 30 and I'm currently retraining crew from BC to that tank. I have one crew member that has a purposefully unused skill a t 65%, the which looks like [+]. My question is this, can I retrain this crew member for 20k credits to this tank and she will still be at 100% with just some of the 65% of that unused skill sacrificed or do I first need to reset ALL skills, then retrain to the tank?

The overflowing experience from (+) will be used to fill major qualifications back to 100%.

I usually keep the crew from grinding tanks with only one skill selected to use that when retraining :)

Yes. Experience not used on a skill will go towards base qualification.

Btw., resetting skills is something I rarely do anymore, as it loses you a percentage of your crew members total XP, which can be quite a hefty amount if said crewman already has a few skills. If its a particularly valuable crew, I usually use gold for that whenever there is a discount. Retraining for another vehicle is hardly an issue compared to this, getting back to 100% from 90% only takes a few battles in a matching premium, especially with premium time and boosters. But even if you have none of these, it´s still quite doable.

Perfect! thanks, didn't want to waste a shed load of xp training resetting skills unnecessarily or being totally criminal having to do it twice.

Just did it there and her 4th skill went from 65% to 54% while she remained at 100%, thanks again.

Yup you will be fine.  My rule of thumb is 40% of [+] unused xp means you don't lose from the primary 100% when using the 20k credit retrain.

...and now off I go to get wrecked in a stock tank lol. Well, I've enough free xp to unlock its second gun so at least its 232 AP vs the stock gun at 170 AP.. that's gotta be worth it!! A slot gets taken with suspension however so I'm thinking Vstabs and optics? or Vstabs and Rammer?

I did not know that.  Very useful when working up from T4.
