Poll: New customisation features don't allow you to turn off frankenstein camos (54 members have cast votes)

You have to complete 250 battles in order to participate this poll.

Do you like the fact that you can't turn off those horrible mismatched monstrosities?

So, 9.21 hits presumably tomorrow, and along with it WG will roll out the new tank customisation features! This will mean that from the moment the update goes live, this:

will be available for everyone, and will be considered a "historical camo" by the system, and thus you won't have the option to turn it off..

Thoughts?

I haven't followed it since they announced it, but I do believe there will be an option for the ones that don't want to see clown tanks rolling around to turn it off via the in-game settings. I hope that means that even if you mix all the possible historical camos into a complete mess like that, that it won't show if you turn it off.

Nope, at the moment there is only a checkbox that hides the "unhistorical" paint colours, but since all the camo patterns by themselves are historical, mismatching won't change it and you can't hide it.

I see, once again I had my hopes that WG wouldn't screw up once again, but well I guess one should just accept faith...

That's horrible in that case, I hope they fix that before it goes live.

Quote from Ph3lan in the announcement thread:

You can simply uncheck unhistorical camos. The mix of historical camos is currently allowed, but based on the common test feedback and the comments in the customization articles we already reported to the devs that some of you would prefer to have the mixed historical camos off as well with the checkbox. I can't promise anything, but the devs know about your concerns.

So basically "this is what you're getting, deal with it for now and we'll see if we ever bother to come back to this"

Who cares one of the mods in Aslains mod pack , allows you to remove things like camo, obviously it does not remove the camo effect as that is server side, but it means you don't have to look at it.

Yeah well he might have made a popular mod pack, but quite a few of us play this game without mods and you shouldn't need a mod to hide clown camos in the first place.

I have one problem with that. I like adding camo to my tanks, I don't want to have to remove camouflage as a whole just to hide people making hideous combinations of camouflage and the game painting it if (pun intended) as "historical camouflage" so it can't be hidden.

What about regular camo patterns we already have? I don't care about the pink paint buckets.

if you make personalisation. SWAP MY DEFENDER TO 252U. Dont want stuck with no personalisation in face of new update. It will be completely deficient with new mechanics. I didnt pay for defender when we had 5 camos to choose just to stuck now with SOME CRAP WITH 0 WAYS TO MAKE PERSONALISTATION WHEN EVERYONE ELSE JUST TOMORROW WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE EVEN CLOWN FIESTA WITH THEIR TANKS.

Dont even try to say like you should have bought 252 blablabla. If i knew that new personalisation mechanics would come and that it will be still not possible to do anything with them, i would choose 252. They make update, it changes everything, people might want to be able to use new mechanics. If they decided to make such big change in whole tank look thing, they should be aware that people might want swap their disabled tanks that are personalisation-proof.

Swap my defender to 252u

THANKS IN ADVANCE WITH CLOWN FIESTA STYLE

Above post made my day. They actually found a way to make defender the inferior option!

Okay, Obj 252 is still there, but they're much more rare from what I noticed.

The way WG is implementing this feature is stupid. Plain and simple.

I would've preferred if they just let us change the actual colors of the patterns of the already existing camos, with colors that are at least close enough to historical ones. That way you can use the "all white" camo and then just paint your tank "brown" and set it up as Desert Camo. But having pink turrets, with bright green hulls and yellow guns is just puke-fiesta all over. Not even remotely interesting.

Every camo in the game has already set of colors. Let us play with those and change them, instead of creating this nightmare. If a camo has for example "green-brown-black", let us be able to change it to "white-red-black". Altered camo schemes would look way better then what WG are working on right now. Something like this perhaps :

All that development time wasted on a feature that people will disable. Pink Type 5's and purple JP. E100's will become boring really fast.
