I get that, I get the whole having to suffer through higher tier tank grinds to finally unlock something really decent. You get the mediocre guns, the turret that can't see far, the turret that slows aim times, reloads and accuracy and you get trolled with missed shot after missed shot on fully aimed targets over and over so get very little per battle on average, just to add to the grinds already testing experience and I know I certainly ain't no unicum BUT! Does that mean the other 14 players on the team, most of which I can clearly see are fully upgraded and top tanks and tierX tanks have to be totally f***ing re***ded? So if I don't have a fully upgraded tank the whole team melts nearly every battle? Not close battles in which you would say "well if I had made that shot or my tank saw further etc etc" no just totally f***ing collapses with clueless morons that beggars belief how they got these tanks and how it's possible to play the game for THAT many battles and yet still remain totally clueless. I'm not talking about bad players that know the game, try but suck, this I can forgive, no this is totally clueless patheticness on a scale that has finally made me post a rant... man that feels good... o ya... endorfins being released as I type... ok so basically just fail heavily all the way to fully upgraded with ****head players? niceeeeeeeeeee.... feels good :)

That's why i don't grind anymore. Been playing purely premium tanks for the past 2 days, it's so laid back. I can even spam more premium and run Food because i don't have to care about my credits, since i'm not gonna buy any tank/module.

I'm afraid that's the way for some of us. Currently with a stock M46 Patton and that thing is just horrible. Lack of pen with AP shells, miserable alpha that makes even Light tanks laugh at you and so on. The only thing that tank has is decent view range. I still think fully stock Indien Panzer is the worst stock grind at higher tiers, but that one is coming quite close.

T20 is the worst stock grind. Fully stock you carry the T67 pea shooter with some abysmal aim time and 0.43 accuracy, and a stock T20 is about as fast as a Sherman Jumbo. Fully upgraded it's pretty good bc 240 alpha

This is what helped me turn grind into quite a pleasant activity (yes it's costly but I'm a grownup with a decent job so what the hell).

Whenever I research the new tank, I convert free xp to max it out and retrain the crew to 100%. So the very first game in a new vehicle is as best as it can be. Then do the full amount of battles for the next in line with a smile on your face.

AMX 30 says hi. If you have not gone the 50 100 line. You get a tier 9 med with 1K less DPM then the top gun with the top turret, and 170 pen on a 90mm gun.

WZ-120. Check how much you need to become a shitty T-54 (more accurately T-55A). Without cHEAT. :)

Oh yeah ! The WZ-120 ! Almost forgot about that one ... And you know why I forgot about it ? Because I went for it thru the lights and only after I've unlocked the 113  Then it was actually playable. But yeah, 200k XP for the top gun is totally worth it

That is why you purchase suspension upgrade equipment when it is on special and save free XP for at least the top turret or intermediary gun.

When I purchased the T54E1 I immediately mounted the suspension upgrade equipment; mounted VStabs and GLD and free XP'd the top gun. No stuffing around with that 170 pen/240 alpha 90 mm.

Playing stock puts you on the bad RNG team more often.

This,  and if you don't have enough free xp then you just do your daily doubles and put our crew into a premium and try and grind as much free xp as possible, t9 is the worst and it's a deliberate part of the economy, I've found myself looking at t9 as a long term project  , buy tank , grind free xp , and sometimes months later only start to play the tank when I have enough for the gun upgrade, currently on the wz132a  it's slightly different as I've left gun until last but on med/heavy I do the above

The two reasons I quickly realised that higher tiers were just not for me were not being a good enough player and how painful a stock grind can be. I played the E-50 for a bit, worked out how long it would take to get the free exp., how much it would cost to convert the exp. or how many games I had to play to earn the exp. The net result, aren’t the other tiers more fun.

Its refusing to grind seriously that kept me away from the high tiers for ages while some players grind a tank line I played all tank lines well all but the SPGs.

I just wasn't into trying to get to the tier 10s mostly because I don't see them as fun but also because I had never heard of most of them.

If I get to a tank thats just awful stock I forget about it and play others only occasionally playing a few games in it.

I used to do the daily double bit but when you have 146 tanks in the garage and realistically play 20-30 games that's out.

Its surprising how often you come back to one of these tanks and find you just need a couple of games to unlock a turret or a gun or that playing another tank you have unlocked modules on that which also go on the problem tank.

I also do what dimethylcadmium said and sometimes just play premiums

Grinding through Chinese TD line, got to T5 and stalled. Didn't use gold to train crew, trying to grind through for top modules. All in all bit of a chore so given up for now. Will restart sometime as higher tiers seem to be ok....

lol, I have that tank unlocked but could it was horrible... currently how this grind feels I'd imagine but the WZ looks like it plays like that ALL the time and not just for a griding period.

It's not a Chinese but strangely enough it feels very much like it. It's the tier9 AMX 30. It's all about this middle gun and stock turret tbh otherwise I am really very happy with the tank. As some suggested above I did carry 37k free xp over with me so when I entered my first battle I had

1. A really good crew with BIA, 6th sense, snap shot, smooth ride, situ awareness and about 80% camo

2. Used free xp to unlock the second gun so instead of 170 pen I have a fab 230 pen or something like that

3. Equipment is the suspension(forced) optics and vstabs.

My other option for a tier9 similar tank was the Leopard PTA but that thing as stock looks much more painful, looks very slow with stock and has a 70+k grind for the top gun(only other gun) and then to add insult to injury it also sucks until u unlock the top turret but unlike the frenchie, the Leopard has a hideous dpm with stock turret while the AMX 30 has good dpm even with the stock turret and the AMX also has excellent mobility(REALLY nice!) as stock and much better dispersion when all is upgraded and in place.. o and massively bigger dpm so with city maps etc where close quarters and gold spammers makes many 1vs1 a straight up dpm vd dpm, the AMX will serve the Leopard its rear end, fact, no other outcome, along with many other tanks.

Thing about this AMX at the moment is it simple WILL NOT land a shot and the top turret is a bizarre grind in which it is only accessible after you unlock all it's guns, as though the turret would be a 4th gun lol so you just have to suck it up and get on with it but it just keeps missing. It looks absolutely amazing with the street pole second cannon on the stock turret, such a monstrously big gun, even the Chinese tanks got nothing on this! But great and all as it looks, it misses nearly every shot to being borderline unplayable and that's not dramatizing it. Long range shots, pffff.. chasing after retreating targets or looking to hit an arty nest from point blank range, forget about it, even with the vstabs and skill my crew has which doesnt get any better, it wont land the shots. I tried up close on ridges like the mountain on fiery salient, cupola shot, miss, another, miss, lower plate. miss, there a big jap heavy in the city, aim 0-1-2-3... shoot, miss... ffs....

Edit- Oh and all these missed shots are VERY expensive too! 17 shots fired, 5 lands, 2 pens... yikes

but I have some time off and the weather is atrocious so I'll grind on, lose on, rage on, get it done. The thing is though, I think I heard the greybeards calling the Dovakin over on Skyrim and kinda getting fed up with this :)

Brilliant gun controls, but omg, over 110+ games now to fully unlock the OBJ.416.

At stock, it's basically a Tier 6/ Tier 7 tank that can meet up with Tier 10 tanks.

First 50 games with an average damage of like 100 and 15% win rate.

So fun!
