Well, here we are again with lots and lots of pretty decorations and a huge bonus this year- significant discounts on tanks across the tiers. Some of the choices would appear to be no-brainers, but I'd like some thoughts on what to do. I do play all tiers above tier II, and I have been returning to the lower tiers with some tanks/TDs which I did OK with in the past. Note- I generally do not like slow tanks and have failed miserably in favourites such as Matilda and KV-1.

Tier II is obvious. Buy the most expensive one and sell it for the credits. NOTE- the H35 is the dearest, at 4,200 credits.

Tier III. I do play tier III, and I have a small collection of favourite vehicles which I do play when I am having a really bad day. The standard tanks I have are: Marder II, SU-76M and Pz I C. I mostly abandoned tier III when it saw tier V and the new player protection kicked in, but it is pretty good now. Due to the low number of battles played in the past, and the MM at the time, it is very difficult for me to judge. I could go with the same option as tier II and not regret it.

Tier IV. I am considering the T-28. I can see that this tank does well in the hands of decent players but I did badly in it the first time around- which was five years ago- so I can't judge.

Tier V. I am thinking, yet again, about the T1 Heavy. This is a tank that I did do well in, even though I don't recall enjoying it hugely. I've got a substantial collection of tier V tanks, so I have most of the best/my favourites already.

Tier VI is another tier where I already have most of my favourites. It might be worth simply putting this discount onto the Chinese TD and just waiting until I get there. Alternatively, I could take the plunge and get 80% off the AT-8, but I don't really want to go down that line.

The only real contender for tier VII is the Challenger. The others I already have, have sold, or don't really want.

For tier VIII, I am stuck. I have a lot of tier VIIIs owned/played/sold, and it is not my favourite tier by a million miles. My main reason for progressing is for missions and maybe finding one tank that I really do enjoy. It would most likely be the UK or Chinese TDs, if I am honest. Please remember that I have the discounts for Swedish TDs from last year.

Tier IX. What I have to consider here is not what I want, but what is least likely to be Top of the Tree in the next few months. I want the M103, but I am sure that will come around. Therefore, I am considering the AMX 30.

Tier X is the hardest. If I actually get to this level of festivity, I am not sure what to do. Although I have been grinding toward the E50M and Grille 15, I am not sure how much I want either one. Lastly is the T110E5, but see tier IX for my opinion on that one.

I can't list all of my 80+ tanks, but if you really do want to help me (and others) then have a look at my service record and most-played vehicles. I have played many, many lines as far as tier VII and even VIII, so I know that the higher tiers that I mentioned are the only real contenders.

The only other possibilities are new vehicles that I haven't played. The StuG III B would be one and the KV-1S another (but I am not really interested in the latter).

Worst case scenario would to get a tank free of charge and sell it for half the credits. This is fine if that is all I do, but a complete waste of time if I train crews for them.

Thoughts for me, and others in the same boat are appreciated.

On a similar note. Once you activate the discount is it forever or will it expire at some point? And will other discounts stack? Anyone knows?

You have to activate the discount soon, but you can buy the tank in the future. I think that the last discounts on Swedish TDs did stack, but I haven't tested that one to the point that I remember how it worked out.

The swedish discount last year stacked, bought them last week with 100% discount.

We need to select which tank the discount is on soon right? Can you also assingn un-researched tanks?

For the female crew, the tank needs to be researched right?

WG indicates mid-March for getting the girls and enabling the discounts - which last forever (but one time only, I presume).

Unresearched tanks are not supposed to be discountable, but it obviously works. For female crew, you indeed need to have the tank researched. Not a huge deal to train them to the same class and then credit-train them if you ask me.

While this and other offers seem to stack, I wouldn't bet on that happening with e.g. TOTT. Wait and see what will be TOTT unless there's a low chance for it (e.g. the FV4005 is unlikely with last month's 183-TOTT, same with AXM 13 105/other LTs).

I have a simple way to decide what to buy.. Do I want something on the tier I unlocked discount on? I buy it. If not, I look for the most expensive tank I researched on that tier, 'buy' it and then sell it. Made already over 300k profit on that.

Slapped the discount on tanks next in line I am grinding, so that takes care of the T6-9 discounts. Might slap the T2-5 discounts on a nation / line I havent started on yet. Debating what to do with the T10 discount since I dont own a T9 yet.

Can't help you there, but keep in mind that the girls train much faster than guys. Dumping male crew isn't necessarily a terrible idea, at least if there are some keepers down the line. Did that with my German HT crew. Maus got a new crew, E75 the old male crew.

Since the first skill isn't counted (and you get one freely trained as well), they train a lot faster. The system, as you probably know, defines the second skill as counting twice that of the first, and so on. Helps a lot when the fourth skill costs 840k crew experience and not 1,7M.

My Maus crew have played 475 battles @894 average. They are 50%-ish on their fifth skill. 200-ish are in premiums.

The 121 crew ("normal" crew) have 1514 battles @ 833 average. Vast majority in premiums. Difference is, these are 99% - on their fourth skill. They have undergone more retraining, but still. Very nice way of getting a decent crew up and running - highly recommended for higher tiers after all.

I could use help picking up some of the low-mid tier ones as well. Think I already have the ones I want, so if there are any hidden gems I'd like the heads up.

Tier II - No idea. I have a bunch of gift premiums, so I haven't felt the need to have a regular tier 2.

Tier III - Pz.Kpfw. II G (the one with the 30mm autocannon)? Don't like the Pz.Kpfw. IC.

Tier IV - Luchs, hand down.

Tier V - Thinking of getting 1 of the Shermans here.

Tier VI - No idea.

Tier VII - No idea at the moment.

Well, if you got no idea what to get for tier 7, you could always get the Type 5 Chi-Ri. :girl:

Personally though, I was thinking of using it for lines I'm grinding/intending to grind.

T6 was easy: i'll play the SU-8 at some point anyway (to unlock the T7), so i brought it cheap now.

T7 was obvious: the AMX M4 - need to rebuy it anyway, so the discount was really welcome.

T8 likewise: the AMX 65t - i'll get it soon, and even as TotT the discount wouldn't be as good.

T9 and T10 i took BC-AP and 50B as i had them unlocked just waiting for the chrismass discounts - brought them now with better discounts.

The 1-5 discounts i'll safe up till the polish line comes out or they are allmost running out (in that case i'll buy and sell some tank)

Already have the Chi-Ri. :B

Me and STA-1 didn't work out so well, so I sold it after grinding it through and bought back the Chi-Ri.

Is there a list/site somewhere where I can see the value of the tier 2 till 6 tanks. Cause I will just buy and sell them.

You have to look each tank separately though.

These are the most expensive tanks and best to buy, if you want to sell the tanks for credits.

tier 2 - H35 (French)

tier 3 - Su26 (Soviet)

tier 4 - B1 (French)

tier 5 - T1 heavy (USA)

tier 6 - M4A3E2 (USA)

I would suggest to apply it to a line you have to start from tier 2. For example I will use it on FV4005 line, where I have to start from tier 2 Cruiser I tank.

Tiers II - VI - I will probably use them on the American E4 line.

Tier VII - O-Ni (Don't agree with the Japanese heavy line on moral grounds, but need the idiot tanks for HT missions)

Tier VIII - Caernarvon

Tier IX - BC 25t AP

Tier X - T57 Heavy or Obj 140

All 4 girls (I have 3 already from the Christmas missions) will go in to the Caernarvon. BC 25t AP already has a BIA crew waiting from my Ravioli while the Obj 140 and T57 Heavy have girls waiting to crew them.

Why would anybody want to sell an H35, it's one of the most OP tanks in the game?
