Had my eyes on this tank for a long time.

Is it any good? I know it's a tier 8 and tier 8 sucks but this things gun seems to be adept at dealing with the BS that comes with tier 8 and tankdestroyers in general can perform all across the board.

What you guys experiences?

Tried it on test server few times. Gun pen is more than enough. Hoewer the bloom is BIG on turret turen. And the turret turns like a whale on the shore....

It's an excellent tank, but I find it difficult to play properly. You are very, very vulnerable.

I've watched video's about it before buying it and also played the Conway and really liked that one (was before the last buffs). So far I had mostly terrible games in it, because I don't have the free xp to unlock the top gun. I have a lot of others I need the free xp for. It doesn't make much sense to add a useless gun in between as well. Little more dpm, little more accuracy, but the gun handling is trash, so snap shots miss a lot.

I think it stays trash until you unlock the top gun. You really need that extra alpha, because 240 damage per shot doesn't make much difference, especially when you have no armor.

It's all about the GUN!

It's a Cromwell with a longer hull with a Cent 7/1 gun on it. The only thing I hate about it is the turret traverse. Other then that, it's a fantastic TD. It's more versatile then the other tier 8 TD's.

Tho be warned.. the stock grind with the 20 prd's are less the ideal. In fact it makes the tank terrible. But once that L7 gun is on. It's fantastic.

I recently bought it, was looking forward to it a lot and I was not disappointed. It's a really nice vehicle with a great gun. Do note I waited until I had enough free XP to unlock the 105 before playing.

I might not even bother going further up this line because it can only get worse.

The Charioteer has started to become one of my favourites, but I'd had it in the garage for a long, long time before coming to terms with it. Since the gun depression buff it has started to make sense to me, a tall tank behind a ridge using the gun depression is much better than a tall tank on top of a ridge. Depending on circumstances get used to playing it like a traditional TD in one game, the next game more like a medium, and which is the great thing about it, read the battle well and it has a role in any situation.

P.S. And like Cobra6 I saved XP and didn't go through the gun grind.

I just bought it after i got the discount for tier 8 tanks and put the lady crew i got from the Xmas event. Bloom is horrible and imo the 20 pdr guns have miserable gun handling so i free xp'd the 105mm. Pen is great but chances to pen superheavies from the 2nd line are still 50/50. I use the non premium HESH and it's hilarious. Easy pen on paper tanks most of the time and good to pick off low health medium armored tanks during endgame, just don't shoot the tracks.

It's a good TD. It would be fantastic, but it's balanced by having horrible gun bloom.

Like others said, the 20pdr grind is a nightmare. Save up free xp for the L7.

Good, but don't play it like a medium like I did for 100+ games. It's a TD with no armour. The top gun is awsomes.

Bad gun handling on t6 is easier to manage than on t8.

Would be great but you have to aim for days to do a semi accurate shot because of the horrendous bloom.

IMO its designed to be a peek-a-boo vehicle because you can't take any hits, but it's impossible to just peek because of the bloom.

Just a crappy SkorpionG in the end. terrible gun bloom, crappy alpha, crappy DPM for the alpha. bad gold round, APCR standard is crap to snipe with due to having a hissy fit on angled armor, velocity is good but who cares when it bounces.

And the 20 pounder stock grind is a joke. should have been the challangers 32 pounder but noooo. screw WG.

But a fun tank is a fun tank none the less. T49 is the most fun in the game, despite arty levels of gun handling :)

On balance I think it is a decent tank, but I just don't get on with it.

T49 is a derp gun. Derp guns bad handling is mitigated by not having to aim at a weakspot but instead - the whole tank. This is where the conspiracy of derps being more accurate comes from. Also it has camo and MUCH better mobility.

Charioter is basically the same in gameplay as Conway. Fast to relocate but you have to fire while stationary at all times. The speed is only to relocate between sniping positions.
