Hi guys,

I recently got the Rudy from the advent offers as it was pretty much the only tank I was hoping would pop up in that roster.

My question to the original-release Rudy owners is the following:

When you purchased the tank, did the crew have every single skill possible trained to 100%?

I saw a thread recently with a discussion about the Rudy's dog companion, where there was a linked video where the guy clearly says that all the crew members have every possible skill (that they can get based on position) trained to 100%, allowing the player to make full use of the tank right off the bat.

If this is the case, then I wonder why with this advent release, this isn't now true.

-----

Secondly, the dog barking Sixth Sense sound is back!

Again, referencing the thread that was popular a week or so back, where the original Rudy players were saying that one of the main selling points of the tank was the dog companion who barks when your sixth sense goes off, which after a couple of patches ended up broken.

Well, it seems that (maybe) that thread gained enough steam for WG to look into it, because in my last game, I clearly heard the dog barking when sixth sense went off.

The hilarious thing is however, it was not my own sixth sense, but someone I was spectating (not a Rudy), because, as said previously, the tank crew on this new release Rudy only comes with the BIA skill, so I have yet to get Sixth Sense trained for myself. I was spectating a Cromwell or some such and when his sixth sense went off, there was a very audible barking noise.

I'm sort-of glad, because it certainly makes the tank feel unique. It's just a bit weird that it still applies the bark even after you're dead and are spectating allies.

-----

I will finish off by saying that if no one else is getting this effect, then it's either a quirky feature of XVM, which I knew nothing about, or it's due to the fact that my sixth sense sound is set to "variant 2", in the sound options (I also have my commander voice set to the crew variant too, so there's a tiny chance that it's that).

I don't hear no dog.

I will try "variant 2".

No.

No crew ever came with every skill trained to 100%

AFAIK the Rudy crew is just trained to 100% in major qualification, it's not even a 0th skill BiA crew.

It had a free BiA crew but nothing else. Glad to hear the dog is barking once again, though. It will be nice taking mine out for a spin again.

The guy was probably playing on a press account or with a WG promo tank. They often throw in all the skills for those because it makes the tank look better.

I've got it set for national voices and both variants of sixth sense alert give the default noises. :(

Well, I looked into it and I spotted a thread from 2016 that said that this is XVM's doing.

I'm still not 100% sure, but if a few of you still aren't getting the good old bark, then I have to believe that XVM is fixing it.

Base XVM, no extras.

Ah, that would be it then - I'm vanilla except for an equipment swapper. Thanks. :honoring:
