Hey WG please do something about serial map clickers!
If someone has clicked more than 30 times in a minute, ban the buggers please!
It absolutely drives me crazy and I dont want to be distracted trying to blacklist chat when in the midst of battle.

There is a limit, please set one and an hour ban with more for serial offenders.

How many clicks is appropriate and how many is anti social as many are.

Hold ctrl, right click on name, block all communication. Works like a charm and you get the added bonus of having him blocked permanently so the next time the same dimwit ends up on your team you don't have to repeat the process.

You can only do that up to 1000 times though.

It only blocks them for that battle and since there are only 30 players in a battle i don't see a problem.

Yep they are are a right pain especially when they have been killed and keep on pinging minimap. Don't mind anyone pinging map once or twice but repeatedly no:)

People tend to only do this in two circumstances

1. When the entire team is ignoring or just not seeing an obvious threat.

2. When a team member is doing something that is either useless or stupid, such as red line camping in a top tier heavy.

Best way to deal with it is to acknowledge the problem and try to do something about it.

Does it, my apologies, I thought it added them to blacklist as well.

Nope you have to do that the normal way after battle if you wish to, but considering how many times you see the same person in battles it's not worth it.

Those who click multiple times are usually neither of these IMO..they are people who THINK they are cleverer than everybody else, and that everybody should do what they think is best. They will click lights who are effectively passive spotting, because they only believe in active spotting. They klick TDs who are engaging from cover, because they thing TDs only work if they ram the enemy...and so on.
They go to stupid places and get killed, then click to prove everybody should do the same.
Some simply spam to anoy their team: people who have useful info to give click a location once or twice, not many times.

I usually block anyone who pings the map or cries "help" during countdown. In my experience these are the people who will start spamming when they yolo-rush and die for no reason.

Its a form of covert communication. The map pingers communicate with each other then post the replays which other map pingers can translate and eventually their evil scheme to control the world will come to fruition.

That is exactly what I said whilst in midst of battle I dont want to be doing that and sometimes it more than 1!
Why should I have to do something when it is another who is being antisocial?

There is a polite & reasonable amount you can click in a time period and easily programmed to either ban or filter.

Or it would if the rest of them weren't hiding at the back instead of charging the enemy in the best traditions of the Light Brigade. I don't think we have much to fear from the strategic minds who click.the map dozens of times.

It's strange how they never use it when they're alive and it would be helpful. Maybe their map only comes on when they're dead?

2 things I hate about this game are map clickers and the dross WJDE spam the forum with.
The repetition makes me feel they are part of a conspiracy!
Both essentially antisocial and something WG seems to do nothing about.

Can't we have it so anyone dead can't ping or message anyone after 30 seconds of their death?

That is a good idea as it is quite often the disgruntled deceased who chat spam clicks.
I just think over a certain number of clicks in a 10 sec period of whoever should have some form of penalty or cool down period.
If it continues past to 20 or 30 then maybe a ban of a short duration that increases on repetition.
Maybe turn them blue?

If you do it the way K_A says then it adds them to your blacklist permanently and since it's limited you will fill it up eventually.

If you press CTRL then put your mouse over the spam then you get a red icon which blocks them for that battle.

Although the chat but sometimes stops that from working.

These used to drive me insane. No one on these threads ever thought to mention there are mods to suppress all the various screen outputs, not just map clickers. Have a look on the mods forum.
