People bash players for playing poorly, but it is game designers responsibility to facilitate player growth by stick and carrot mechanics. In WG games the stick is really non-existent while carrot is also lacking and on top of that you can simply pay real money and get a juice apple instead of a crappy carrot...

Chances are that they believe you are disengaging because you think that flank is lost and they don't want to be overrun. Remember a lot don't even check the minimap and only check their near surroundings.

Is that because of some fetish you have or...?

That is when you are bored of hearing/reading same thing over and over which has no logic behind. No fetish in this one :)

I would imagine it is some sort of I want to shoot the thing that is shooting me mindset. Like a revenge mindset.

It's why when you play lights or lower tiers, you flank behind some TDs and heavies, all of a sudden you'll have like an E3 or something turn fully around to shoot your tier 8 tank and will only aim at you whilst they get farmed in the side by 5 tanks. Whilst you sit there, hiding behind cover, getting nothing for it because you don't want to take a massive hit from a tier 10 TD and that guy is still aiming in your direction even though there are 5 tier 10 tanks killing him to his side.

The average ability of this playerbase is awful and it seems the average bob is really bitter so he'll yolo you for having the audacity to shoot at him or turn around to just shoot at you or hold his fire even with multiple targets just because you shot him once.

Yep, encountered that as well.

It is just bizarre that they have mere seconds ago been fighting in one direction and then like a goldfish, they immediately forget about that and start shooting in the other direction.

You are all engaging the enemy ahead of you, either holding them or pushing them back.

Spoiler

Suddenly you notice a few enemy tanks that may be moving to flank you, so you and one or two other tanks turn around to engage them, covering the rear of your allies as they continue to address the existing threat.

Spoiler

Then suddenly everyone has turned around to engage the new threat, leaving you all exposed to the existing threat and now you are all getting f***ed in the rear end.

Spoiler

Why do people suddenly forget about the enemy tanks they were presently engaging, completely ignore them, turn around and ensure the flank collapses? If you see a few of your allies have turned around do not turn with them. In doing so you unhinge the entire flank. I've lost count of the times I have turned around to engage a new threat, held them off and then suddenly started getting shot in the arse because my allies have also turned around and left us exposed.

Call me a noob, but I will allways turn toward the higer threat. And this doesn't mean necessarely the stronger tank. An AMX 13 105 in the back is an higher threat than an E100, so if I have to chose, I would turn toward the LT, help my teammate to take it down and quickly turn back to the E100. Obviously, if there are more potential damage on E100 side, I would ignore the french LT.

Because they are gonna get slaughtered whatever they do, same as usual, so it doesn't matter. Tactics only apply if you have a ghost of a chance of anything you do working or making any difference, which is a big joke in WOT.

In Circon's last stream he was a bit narked that while he was pushing a corridor, he was still getting shot in the flank because some swedish cheese wasn't laying down crossfire.

People need to remember that if they haven't currently got line of sight to the enemy in front, then it's their job to fire sideways into any enemy trying to flank

All that was happening was that they were queuing up in a line waiting for circon to reverse, so that they could take a shot

???

You can make a difference in WOT results by your choices in game.

That some consistently make bad decisions and get low WR is proof of that.

This is just another example of the standard WOT players total lack of teamplay.

Yep, in a platoon you would automatically be thinking about covering your team-mates back, and such tactics happen organically

However I suspect that a lot of people simply hadn't realised that crossfire was a known tactical concept, and that in real warfare nobody is sitting there in a corridor queue like in every WoT game.

Even things like Fire and Manoeuvre, some people wait for the enemy to shoot before peeking, for some people it never crossed their minds as a good idea.

*or like me they just forget everything they ever learnt and die in 30 seconds

That one is easy: failed rerolls or stop caring.

I stopped caring about my stats but have instead focused on letting the drooling windowlickers how much they suck and worse.

How they do that? Simple. They can only press W or keep breathing. You can't possibly ask those crayon eating window lickers to use more oxygen than they can take in....

I see such gameplay almost every time. You sit at a corner and keep reducing the hitpoints of multiple enemy tanks and suddenly herp and derp join the party because "i can do that too" clogging up that corner and limiting your space basically playing into the enemies hands. So you go and look for another way to deal damage and the next moment you look both ran away from the corner and the enemy tanks come flooding in...
