Well guys I am pretty upset with the contents of the boxes I got because I really, really wanted a Type 59 and I bought 150 boxes (75 modern & 75 chinese) to try and get one. I only got three premium tanks and all of them were the crap tier IVs that nobody wants.

Item Equivalent Gold Value Equivalent Monetary Value (£;)
Gold 67,900 £191.12
Credits 15,000 £44.52
Premium Account 9,650 £31.35
Premium Tanks 3,600 £11.92
  TOTAL £278.91

So I spent £171.10 and got a return of £278.91 which is nowhere near the gains that QuickyBaby got in his box opening video. I know the Wargaming Staff on this forum say that every box has an equal chance of getting any item, but I am going to personally call it as a lie on their part. There is no way Quickybaby should be able to get FIVE tier VIII premium tanks, plus all the gold and credits that he did when I (with a supposedly equal chance) have DOUBLE the chances by having double the boxes and yet I get substantially less.

QuickyBaby had a ROI rate of close to 200% whereas I had a 63% ROI so yeah WarGaming I am calling you out as cheats and liars unless you specifically note the % chances in the forum on each individual prize. This is utter BS.

I'm not much for conspiracies but I do have to admit that in the first 2 days it felt like everybody got T8 prems out of their boxes rather easily. 25 boxes almost guaranteed at least one T8.
People got so many tanks that I was 50/50 certain I'd get a tier 8 premium from the 25 boxes I bought on day 2 and indeed, I did.
After that though I get the impression that people really struggle to get anything no matter how many boxes they buy.

Luck? Probably... but I can't say I'm certain WG didn't go in there and secretly touch the percentages.

Equal chance =/= equal prices..

And I also heard/read people that bought 75 boxes and didnt get any Tier VIII premiums..

Edit: First day I bought 11 boxes, no Tier VIII only a Tier IV premium. Yesterday I bought 3 chinese boxes to speed up the chinese decoration collection and third box got me the Hype 59...

IIRC I worked out that I got about £100 more in 'value' of stuff than what I paid for.

I got a Type 59 and probably another tier 8 which I got gold value for as I already had it.

To get near £280 of stuff for £170 and then complain about it seems a bit cheeky to me. Plenty of people didn't get a tier 8 premium, whilst others got some in just a handful of boxes.

It's probably more like slot machines in a casino where the odds of winning depend on the remaining prize pool.

At the start there were X tier 8s to win so your chance was greater. Now (maybe) there are less available to win so your odds are less.

This is just a possibility as I dont know if they limited the quantities.

However, I know that I bought a 75 pack on day 2 and didnt get any tier 8 tanks. My results were similar to the OPs

I would actually agree with that if it wasn't for the massive disparity between what I got and Quickybaby got. I think WG are playing a trick here in all honesty.

I'm no streamer, I bought around 100 boxes and got the Type, 40t, Skorp and the 3 t4's - sorry you weren't so lucky :( It really is best not to go all out in the hope you might get it, will you really be happy knowing you paid so much for it if it does ever turn up in a box?

I didnt watch the video of him opening all 75 boxes, but I watched the one where he summarized.

After going on and on about how he thought it was wrong of WG to promote gambling I think he seemed genuinely suprised at his luck

It's true though. I bet his video influence a lot of players to buy the boxes based on his results.

I wouldn't know what to do with one, but I bought the boxes with a near certain feeling Id get a tier 8 after all the results reported by streamers and people in the forums.

I would have been perfectly happy if I had got the Type 59 and less gold/ credits since I collect premium tanks and it hasn't been available since I started playing the game.

I'm sure - what I meant was I don't encourage people to keep spending based on my luck - I'd feel terrible if people poured ££'s into this thinking they would get things because I did and didn't get so lucky.

Mate, my name is The_Wallet_Warrior and I'm in WJDE and you'll see I have a lot of premium tanks on my WotLabs profile. You can take it for granted I load 100% gold on most tanks.

well wg simply changed marketing tactics. Last year all period chances were same and i guess they got less money they planned. So they changed format. This time they created huge hype on first hours. And later they simply changed drop rate. Notice that all 4 prems are not available in prem shop. So ppl went after them like mad.

To be honest I don't think they'd risk doing something like this.  If the code leaked or it was confirmed in some other way then they'd probably risk losing all their earnings.

With the EA fiasco still fresh I'm sure they put this in place with as little legal risk as possible, but that's just an opinion.

Mate we are talking about a company that deliberately based themselves in Cyprus because it was a tax haven at the time.......

Unfortunately with things like this there will always be winners and losers (if getting £100 more value of stuff than you paid can be classed as losing), Someone I know got the Type on the very first box he opened and I got mine after 100 boxes on my very last box I had left. I got a lorraine plus a shed load of gold and credits, overall I can't complain because I probably spent £100 and got 150-200 quid worth of stuff plus the Type which is a bit of a unknown price.  I know people on here that have bought 11 boxes and got 3 T8 prems and know people who have bought 150 boxes and not got any.

Basically "overall" I think this for the majority has been a really good event especially with the credit bonuses still running.

well but they also cant give everyone its type59 too. I bought boxes 4 times. First went 25 at first part of day on 12.15. Got Skorpion and t4 prems. Then after few hours went for another 11. Got t26e5 and last t4 prem. At the evening i went for another 11 got only some gold for 1 t4 prem. Then 12.17 i went for another 25 got no tanks and in general got like 2-3 eur in goods more then i paid. So every time loot was worse and worse. Sure it might be just bad luck but also knowing what kind of company wg is i wouldnt surprised that they changed drop rate.

well i probably will go for last 11 boxes if there will be camo and crew discounts will see how it will go.

He got lucky, you got unlucky.

As other have said I have seen people who bought more than me not get a Type or tier 8 prem and I have seen others who bought less get one.

thats all true. But i still think that 100 or 150 boxes should give atleast one t8 prem. Why to upset clients that much. i am pretty sure next time OP wont spend as much or even more money..
