New maps never hurt, if balanced. We are screwed

There are no new maps and some of the old get reworked.... who would have though... for the worse.

At least this is what happened on the first HD maps Sandbox thingy.

So yeah. its a feature for the newcomers and new players, but wont make a tiny difference for the people already playing. In about a week or 2 you will have forgotten how the old grpahics looks, the same like you have forgotten the old sound.

If that also would be a proper rework of a lof of the trash level maps that would be really nice for both, newcomers and seasoned players, yet its only pimped graphics and no better gameplay.

I doubt any of the current 7 leaked super test maps make it to patch 1.0. They are even testing a new version of Province.

Think i'll quit the Forum before march :),

i can just see all the screaming kids,

my game wont work,

ffs fix the lag,

whats with all this lag fix it now,

cant play the game since patch,

wg screws up again cant play,

Wonder how many people will actually be able to play with the new graphics,

i mean there are loads of people complain that they can't play now,

Wonder if this will be like when Everquest launched the Shadows Over Luclin expansion, after about 6 months of emergency patches to try and fix the problems the new dx9 caused they had to refund thousands of players who could no longer play,

obviously this games free but anyone with premium time or who just bought tanks or gold and not had a chance to use them, they will all have to be refunded if they can no longer play.

At last an end to 0.9.stupidity

And an end to those "WoT is still in beta" posts.

I played the new HD maps on the sandbox, all graphics on maximum, never noticed any drop in FPS. Don't spose they were using the new encore engine?

Anyway, just to be nosey, I downloaded and tested the map using encore with everything set to ultra, and passed with flying colours!

P.S. In case anyone is interested. As you can see, not exactly a bells and whistles PC by any standards, but does the job nicely :)

CPU: AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 9590 Black Edition 4.70GHz [No overclocking] [Twin radiator watercooler, need it for that AMD burner!].

G/Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming 6144MB GDDR5.

Ram: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz.

OS: Windows 10 64bit Pro edition.

P.S. I got a score of 16764

Considering how many still use low end systems on RU. They have to keep that in mind. That and the new engine is way more optimized vs the current one. On the first HD map test, most got the same or a bit more FPS running on med to low settings on low end system.

Probably the best change tbh.

Well, i got a meh computer, and when i tested it on the sandbox server, i actually gained 5-10 fps compared to the live server, and i went from medium / high grapichs on live server to max / ultra on sandbox.

Game gets new 'Map specific' music aswell...Cool!!

''Update 1.0 doesn’t just focus on how World of Tanks looks and feels, but how it sounds. Each map will have its own main theme that resonates with its setting and changes dynamically depending on what is happening in combat. From Caucasus themes with Gregorian chanting to Arabic compositions featuring national instruments, Wargaming teamed up with over 40 musicians from all around the world to create a unique atmospheric, authentic sound for each battlefield.''

Version 1.0...I don't deem WoT 1.0 ready by a long shot, no matter how polished it is.

About enCore benchmark though.

I am surprised, it scored 8800+ on ultra settings on my rather old system with a 4ghz Intel Xeon (S775 era) + an AMD R9 270x. To bad you cannot customize detail settings of it though.

Those that complain either have software issues or have serious delusions about their computers. Alternatively they're just trolling; kind of like the guy that spent about twice his computer's worth on premium tanks.

WoT is very close to running "OK" on my parents' laptop, which literally was the cheapest 15,6" Windows laptop ...in 2013. My 2004 mid-range desktop ran WoT well into 2013 too. The laptop does 30-ish FPS on very low graphics. Doesn't look good, but if you insist on using an old, crappy laptop to play games you likely have imagination enough to not care - it's not that long ago that the best 'graphics interface' was your cerebral cortex.

(War Thunder is for instance very well-optimized compared to WoT, and I believe the minimum system requirements aren't that far away either.)

It ran it fine in a dual core AMD with a Geforce 7800 GTX AGP card until last year for training room stuff. It ran it on low to med details at 40 ish fps.  I now use a 6 core with a 560 ti instead to test stuff alone with my alt account. But back then even the AGP card could to it.

Well AW did run at 30 fps on low details on my old rig with the 560 ti and 6 cores when it came into open beta. Now it runs it on med to high details at 60 on the same system. So to their credit, they have come a long way to optimize their game to. And WT runs slower there on that same system.

Has the came actually been fixed though? Or are they just slapping another paintjob on it and calling it a good'un?

Rubicon was planned as 0.10.

Now WoT will become 1.0
