Hello, is there still a chance to get a tier VIII prem tank from the loot crates? I heard WG reduced the had reduced the chances. Also, all the posts from people who got the premium tanks are a week old. So I was wondering if it’s not too late now to buy them. And if it’s not, which ones should I go for? (rumours say that the chinese crates contain the best loot)

Spend that money on your family, not badly trained monkeys.

From who?

The only official WG statement was from Ph3lan who says the odds have not changed.

Nothings been changed from day one other than the conspiracy theorists trying to stir up more trouble as normal.

I bought an 11 crate bundle at the outset of the event; got all three ttier IV tonks, about 14 days Premium and 5k Gold, about 500k credits...

Bought same bundle today, got no tonks, about 5 days premium, about 3k Gold, 20k credits...

Given I got all the decorations I need to get to Level X, and get the girls (all I really wanted) with the first set of crates, this looks like VERY diminished returns over a week...*

Might get some more if it's still a thing, after PayDay, cos even the lesser result yielded SLIGHTLY more Gold/Premium than the £17 would have bought normally...

EDIT: Yeah, I know - that's why it's called "Gambling"...:sceptic:

I suspect the chances of you getting a tier 8 is still the same this week as last week. Just as it is for you to get nothing. And no... you don't get a bigger chance to get a 59 or a tier 8 premium in general if you pick a Chinese one over a Traditional one. That is more based on the decoration you get. As in what camo set you want to complete first.

As people have said you pay your money you take your chance. I gifted 3 boxes to a friend yesterday and be got a skorp g. I've opened 25 through gifts and 11 i bought myself and didnt get any of the tier 8s but did get a good amount of gold from duplicate tier 4s so i was happy enough.

If there are monkies in his family I'm sure that they are all amazingly well trained!

From an economic point of view it would have been the right choice (to lower the chances) for WG to make. But we can't tell. I myself had no luck with them but what i do appreciate is the fact that they give better yield than buying gold directly.

like i said , i was so unlucky with my openings im like 40gold away from a discounted tier 8 prem

I bought my friend 11 to open, the best he got was 3 days of prem. He then bought himself some, he got nothing. Another friend of his bought him 3 and he got a tier 4 prem. In total he opened something like 35, and the best he got was a tier 4 prem.

When the boxes were new a few of my other friends opened a load of tier 8 prems.

The drop rates have been adjusted.

Of course it made most sense to buy the crates on day 1.

It's because you could ramp the XP/credit bonuses to 48% on many nations fast that way.

Stop saying stuff like

"they give better yield than buying gold directly"

"If you are looking to buy some gold then yes. "

"more Gold/Premium than the £17 would have bought normally" etc

These is not true. I was mislead by all this comments. and treated myself for christmas with a 11box package. 3250 gold (6 days premium - 1250 gold for a week, 1 garage slot - 150gold cuz you only buy this on a discount- and some 1,5m credits, a 2 day grind for me). And i`m staring at a 5500 gold package in the premium shop for exactly the same price, with no discount. How disappointing. Well, it was my firs experience spending money at WOT and it didn`t go well. I feel like a fool, and cheated. This was definitely the last one.

When you go to buy this stuff it clearly says: one of the following: 3 tanks, credits hi//lo, premium time hi/mid/lo, gold amount hi/mid/lo. So for me that means that i got the same chance for 100k credits as for a sentinel for exemple. Coincidentally there are 11 rewards in this category. So 11 boxes 11 mixed rewards, right? Hell no. Not even close. Here is what i got: 500g, 3day, 1 day, 1 day, 1 day, 1 garage, 500k, 500k, 100k, 100k, 100k, 100k and a freakin emblem).

That's the way I figured it, I'm not a gambler, wasn't fussed about the outcome but people had said that you get about the same in gold so figured i'd have a little play and went for the 25 box modern set.

I ended up with 8000 gold, some silver, a garage slot or two, some consumables, a T28E, 22 days of premium and so was already way ahead of the £34 that I had paid.  Then they forced me to accept a Type 59 too.  This was a couple of hours ago so no conspiracy about them being sent to a) good players b) YouTube streamers or c) people on the first day.

I fail at all three of those criteria :)

Here's a small question related to the christmas boxes.

Can I store them unopened until a moment after the event ends or are the boxes then gone?

Reason I ask is because the're potential for premium activation, but its automatically activated when opening the boxes, and I'd rather do so on a moment of choosing.

The only people claiming the box drop rate has been nerfed are the ones who bought boxes convinced they were going to get a Type59 and got butthurt when they didn't. The drop rate is exactly the same as it was day one. WG confirmed it.

It's still a gamble tho, you may not get one. But it's your money, you decide.

That would seem like a bad choice, for one there's the waste of decorations/shards for completing collections.

I also suspect, that once the event is over all the boxes you've got will go *poof* automatically and you'll just get given whatever you get.
