honestly WG everybody knows how the physics were years ago and they clearly improved but wtf you ever tried to flip an O-I just by magic or why can u flip your tank between a wall and a dead tank when its hard to get through? Honestly that crapaint realistic at all when your tank magically starts floating as if Yoda is trying to lift you up to f ing coruscant for real

please improve that part of the engine its stupid

oh and merry christmas <3

You know what I find more annoying than hitting a little bump & your tank gets flipped? Idiot team mates that ignore you!

I don't think I ever managed to flip any of my Japanese Heavies...

And I've played them quite a bit.

So I reckon, you're doing something horribly wrong.

I never did before but I was trying to slip through between a dead tank and a wall and the tank immediatly started flying and landed on its side

When your tracks leave the ground a bit you do see some weird stuff, hugging the rocks on the middle road on Lakeville a little to tightly have had some weird consequences for me in the past. The floating thing you describe is weird indeed and it's like driving a car on ice pretty much, you steer to the right but the car keeps going forward.

more realistic I suspect would be the tank becoming tracked.

The flipping of light tanks happens because we have little control over speed, you  do not drive a tank at 70kph and then execute a 90 degree turn without slowing down.

Well not without a good chance of destroying your tracks or skidding sideways a good distance.

We have the R and F keys that give you 3 speeds but mostly I think we just hold down the W key and then press A and D as needed.

Pity keyboard and mouse combos don't come with a throttle control.

Luckily the only tank s I have to really watch out for are the Luchs and the LTTB those are both easy to flip

That's true. But what i find weird is that i can do the same maneuver with f.e. an AMX 12t and a T-54 ltwt but the lightweight is at least as much or even more prone to flipping in the same situation. The T-54 ltwt is also skidding a lot more.

I've seen dumb Type 4/5 players getting on their side at Abbey while leaving base. Same happened at least once to a Maus. Not possible to turn them up again.

I'd say WG have done a pretty good job with the game engine although I'd admit once a tank actually leaves the ground weird stuff starts happening.

My only recommendations would be for tanks to throw their tracks if they:

1) attempt to flip themselves by driving up a wall/obstacle (with one track)

2) turn aggressively at high speed.

I expect quite a few players mash R at the start of the round whilst on their phones/browser page etc and aren't focused on driving their tanks as they flip leaving the spawn

Its walls I have the most trouble with when it comes to the bigger tanks working a corner and in sniper mode you can sometimes climb a wall.

Easy to see in third person but not always in the buttoned down view.

Even though the wall isnt classed as destructable it shouldn't allow for a tank to climb up and tip, sure its carelessness on my part but when you are busy fighting around a corner it can happen.

I also find some of my light tanks will flip right over and keep going side turret other side and upright again, doesnt happen often though.

Some tanks seem almost weighted to they tend to remain upright wile others just end up on their sides.

I am working on prevention and wondering if you can steer into a flip like you steer into a skid, I think it can work and stop the tank turning over.

Needs good reactions though so my age is against me ;)

Yeah, tracks getting traction on walls is annoying and not "realistic", the indestructible nature of those walls adds to the mess.

What also is kind of stupid although it looks funny is tanks pushing others against walls and flipping them as if they had no weight. Most tanks barely have the engine power to climb a slope yet they can easily generate enough power to overcome the weight and friction of another tank on the ground.

I do love the interesting way the physics engine interprets what's supposed to happen when a tank is next to wall or rock sometimes.

Flipped tanks should be able to unflip themselves.
