That is, can they still be (re)applied after January 15th?

apparently yes. they are tagged as "Unhistorical" though so you can disable viewing them from game menu

What would be the point of pushing past the 55 items if the camos were ephemeral?

It's quite a challenge to get them all without paying, I think it is impossible!

Hm we need more bonus codes!:great:

I'm pretty sure it was purposely made impossible to achieve the final reward without paying anything. Even worse: I purchased 11 traditional and 11 Chinese (because those are the camos I like) and, almost half way through the event, those collections are still far from complete. (Only a single tier 5 icon missing on both, but several tier 3 and 4.)

This is why I stopped playing for all of 2017 -- disgusted as I felt for grinding the 2016 Christmas Event hard and just barely missing out on the final reward, simply because I hadn't paid any cash. If I don't make the final reward this time, *despite* paying, they won't be seeing any more money from me.

You aren't really missing anything. Most of the camos are just strange and all can only be applied to tier 10s and to tier 8 premiums.

The only bonus you have for completing all a collection is a strange camo going only on premium tiers 8+ ? Gosh.

Btw does it really work as a camo ?

No idea whether the Christmas camos even get you the camouflage bonus, because haven't obtained any yet.

But indeed, given the effort it takes to push on from level X festivity to a complete collection, it is rather disappointing for these camos to be limited to t8 premiums and t10. Especially since only a minority of players will even see them, since the default setting of the game is to hide non-historical elements.

I only found that out yesterday; I had read about the setting in the release notes but had expected it to default to allow for non-historical elements given the existing clown camos such as the Patriot's, the Liberté's...

Oh and of course the camos (and inscriptions) can also only be used on the appropriate nations' tanks. And you only get one, so it seems it can only be applied to one tank. And it is a set deal so you cannot mix and match with regular camos despite the new system.

And emblems and inscriptions 'won' through individual boxes do not seem to stack.

And you have to pay for the emblems and inscriptions YOU WON in the boxes?

Can't find anyone back in my gargage that I won with gambling? strange...

At the moment, full customization is only available for tier 10 and for tier 8 premiums. If by this information you think it will not be extended to every single tank, I pity you.

The Christmas event camos are full tank only though, so there is no particular reason for them to be similarly restricted. This is even more so considering that they are not trivial to earn (without spending significantly).

Just an idea for you guys.

Just before the even ends you can try to crush your "main" decorations (as you won't get to keep them anyway) and use the shards to build the items that are missing from the collection of your choice. Be realistic though, it takes a lot of shards and you may end up with useless duplicates, so go for the collection you completed the most.

Oh, and yes, it specifically says in the item description in the customisation menu that the special camo does provide the bonus, but it's unhistorical and might not be visible to all players.

You can crush them the moment after you hang them on your tree or whatever.  They don't disappear from the tree etc once placed on it even if you then break them up.

Again, try your Tier 8 premiums. And they are last on the list so you have to scroll through everything else to find them.

Umm, no, they won't disappear from the collection, but if you take them off their decorations slots the atmosphere bonus will go down. So it's best to do it just before the event's end, so make the most of the bonuses they provide, and then to make the most of the shards they provide for crafting.

Ah, I see you're right.  I thought the thing with the scrapbook applied to the tree.  I have atmosphere ten and haven't completed the collections.
