One of these matches one of my teammates fipped upside down. So I tried to help him and pushed him over a rigdge. It didn't help because I was too slow. That teammate blew up, and I got a negative one kill. I did no damage to that fellow, just pushing.

Should we not help flipped over tanks, or is this a bug?

I've been penalised so many times 'un'-flipping flipped tanks, I tend to now think twice about un-flippin' 'em.

It's not a bug...you moved him so the server took it as you flipped him and caused his death...therefore teamkilling him...it's just a bad mechanic in wot as the server cannot differentiate between helping and tk-ing in that situation...so yeah...but by all means...if it doesn't take long and you can help...do it...i always help them when they need...ofc...if possible...as i won't be able to move jackshit in my light tanks...

Yeah it's a bit annoying, saw an O-I trying to flip a T67 the other day, he got rewarded with a nice blue colour. The system is automated, so it detects that you came in contact with the tank before it died, it's like when you drive over the bridge on Erlenberg and touch someone so they drive into the lake, you had contact last, so the system penalize you. The system work as intended, but it have quite a few flaws that can be quite annoying, especially now when you try to help someone that have flipped their tank. If I'm not mistaken they added a "winch" mechanic to WT a while back, something similar would be nice to have in WoT.

How about if WG add a towing rope, like WarThunder?

If you do any damage before flipped tank blew up, it is your "fault" and pay the price.

rule of thumb:

Is friendly tank lying on it's side - help him unless you get yourself into enemy fire

is he lying top-down only help when you are right next to him.

I disagree. Two dead tanks won't help the team. Besides if it gets me banned it's not worh winning the match.

I've had the problem myself as well.. but how should I know I'm able to get a tank back up or not? I just can't..

Only when it's a big fat tank like Maus or a Type 4/5 I won't try, as they are too heavy. you won't make it even with a big tank driven by yourself..

I've send a ticket about it, but as usual got a lazy response...really encouraging to help out your allies, right?

How fast was the ridge travelling for you to not see it?

The system is easy to exploit:

If you want to be a troll you can easily troll the team to death, and get away with it.

Better removing the teamkilling mechanics and let people deal with trolls in game, we would bring quick justice much more efficiently.

Been the victim of this, and seen people trying to help me become victims,

When upside down one, a tank pushed me round for the short remaining time of the game despite me telling him to leave me. Afterwards he explained he was only pushing me round to stop me dying and him getting the blame..!!!

The tank on its side/roof should be able to press a button to show it was helping, not malicious

Maybe targeting him and pressing f7 should remove the teamkill damage?

Good idea, it will be implemented SOON :coin:

This would create a troll's paradise. Even with tanks turning blue you are not always sure who started it, but by taking out the smurf you can at least end it without penalty. If they weren't the instigator, more fool them for retaliating. Remove the mechanic and you have a fratricidal free-for-all. Sorry, but no thanks.

to be honest, that is actually a very good idea.

like in other games, you have like 30 seconds to "forgive" TK or team damge - if not,

the "offender" will receive the usual TK/teamdamage credited to his/her account.

Or even to forgive ramming damage, but not shooting damage.

Sounds like a plan, now we just have to persuade WG

It is realistic, trains you for a situation in real life

When you see somebody falling and not moving, dont help directly. Call help and start filming. Or you may end up taking the guilt.

Sadly that did happen to me. Once.
